Finally managed to activate after a little hiccup with outlook.com blocking the activation e-mail. Luckily I have the habit of keeping my old e-mail accounts Some of you might have seen me on BetaArchive - I came here after someone posted a thread about the Xbox Alpha II kits which made me curious. I've always wanted to join a community with a strong interest in the original Xbox (amongst other things) so here I am ! I'm also interested in expanding my game dev skills to consoles and the older generations really seem more fun and less restrictive (as in paid subscriptions, restricted dev platforms - looking at you Apple! etc.) to work with. I currently own a PS1 which might prove as a good reason to learn assembly if I want to develop and deploy any games on it. I also had a Xbox1 (sold long ago unfortunately) which I'd really like to "rebuild" using only off the shelf Pentium3-compatible parts. Not sure how much it counts but I also have a Tulip System I, a 8086 computer (not a PC clone though), which might sound familiar to any Dutch members out there. The ROM however seems to have suffered bit rot so if anyone has a compatible MS-DOS image, or just the custom IO.SYS ( I suppose I could risk it), that would be awesome !
Welcome to Assembler That's exactly why I came here, I kind of stalked the forums as a guest for a while then made an account eventually. There is plenty on info on pretty much any console I can think of and the community will always be willing to help
