Recently I've been wanting to play Hey You Pikachu! and while I do have the VRU which you plug into the fourth controller port I have no microphone. I think a regular microphone will work fine. You can look for a cheap mic' at DealExtreme for testing. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/mini-flexible-microphone-3-5mm-jack-100031 (even if this one has a stereo jack, it should work in mono too, like the one from your link).
