Hi there! I'm "The Real Phoenix", and I'm a French living in Montréal, Canada. English is not my native language, so I may make some errors or misspelling. I'm sorry if in the future some of my sentences will be incorrects or have no-sense. I've always been interested into retrogaming with emulators, but since the beginning of this year, I've wanted to go further. I've bought a SNES and trying to get some games (around 50 so far, and some quite good pieces). I've also some basic experiments with electronics, so I'm restoring a bit some consoles. I've MegaDrive (VA3 fully recap) and a Mega-CD (freshly restored, some remodeling with hotglue and a new belt and its good as new). The Super 32X should be here tomorrow. Everthing is hooked-up in SCART RGB with a CSY-2100 clone to my amplifier. Maybe I'll post some pics of my installation. I've also restored a GameGear, and a second one is en-route. (I've also more recent systems but that's not important) I've finally subscribed to this forum because it's there I found most of my answers about mods and stuff, and since I've decide to gear-up my mods I think it's a good idea to share it (and also ask some questions 'cause I'm sure I'll messed-up somewhere ). I have a lot of mods in mind, they are not really awesome but the fun for me is to finish them and made them work. Thanks!
Welcome Fellow Canuck! Your English is fine by me. This site's members span the world so I wouldn't be too concerned with a tiny bit of errors. Im sure you'll be at home here.
Hello back from Toronto (but I use to live in Mtl for 7 years). Don't worry so much about your english. We have a lot of visitors here from all over the world with varying levels of proficiency. =)
Thanks! I've tried to post some pics yesterday but it seems it wasn't validated. Hope this time it will work. Edit: ok the post was validated, I've deleted it to avoid confusion. Recap job on a GameGear Some remodeling with hotglue for MegaCD parts Before After Retro consoles: The CSY-2100 clone with a jack 3.5mm added for getting the sound from the SCART.
Hello from the Maritimes. Wonder how many canucks are on this forum. It's sad all the nice hardware that gets traded hands on forums like these, and for me it seems I have to pass because of the insane shipping costs.
Yep. Same with sells from amazon/eBay: not much choice, expensive shipping costs. :/ I'm trying to get some SNES games and even that is not easy.
Hello, Fellow french Canadian from Quebec city here! Some native english write poorer english than you do so I would not be overly concerned Glad to see a fellow Quebecer who is also interested in Modding and repairing consoles!
Welcome to the forums! Looks like you will be right at home here with your electronics "expertise!" =] Looking forward to see what you show off.
Welcome to the forums, I'm new myself and plan to introduce myself soon but I thought I'd pop in and say hi since I'm also a french canadian living Sherbrooke, Qc. Nice clean mods/repairs by the way.
