    Hello everyone,

I am a PC gamer thats just plain addicted to Turok2 for pc. (got the demo with my 1st pc early '99)
I played it as my 1st online fps and got spoiled forever.

Theres a small community of only 20-30 of us that play online.
1 or 2 people have the capabilities of making custom texture sets for the game levels but sadly no level editor.
I just downloaded acclaim_archive6.7z and saw that there was/is one called "turok II the next gen world editor"
We would love some new levels so any hints on where I could get it would be greatly appreciated.
Some of us dream of getting the t2 source with emphasis on the dream part.

Great site and I hope to be back often

    Welcome to the site!

I'm a huge fan of Turok myself. Played the first two on the N64 back as a kid and have been hooked ever since. The editor in question was most likely an editor made by acclaim back when the game was still in development. Sadly no such thing exists at the moment. Your only hope is that the editor is on the data tapes ASSEMbler has, and since he's been busy, I wouldn't count on him dumping and releasing it anytime soon.

I was actually looking to see if people would be interested in developing an editor for the first game on the N64, but I doubt anyone with the skills to do so would actually want to.

Oh, and because it needs to be said: Fuck Turok 2008. It's just a crappy CoD clone with dinosaurs.

EDIT: I type that last sentence then see that your avatar is of Turok 2008. Whoops, haha... but I still hate that game. Turok 1 and 2 are the ones to play.

    My sentiments exactly on Turok2008.
I didn't get past the game killing player matching system, the avatar is still cool even though the game isn't.
btw I have never been into consoles or single player games and haven't finsihed the 1st lvl in turok2 single player on pc but have played online t2 almost exclusively since 99
is it a given that ASSEMbler is open to financial/material inducements? there are ppl who really want the lvl editor

I don't think it's really about money. There is no guarantee it's on the tapes, but if it is, I'm sure ASSEMbler will upload it eventually. The main problem was him not having the correct drives or software to dump the data.

Believe me, I've been trying to get a hold of him about this kind of stuff for months. Judging by the date on some of the tapes, I'm willing to bet that source files for Turok 1 and 2 are on them. Of course, I have no real way of really proving it one way or another.

    ASSEMbler, any updates?

Thank you so much for that link. Makes me happy to see I'm not the only person interested in hacking these games.

    Welcome!

I liked Turok 1 & 2 a lot, Turok 1 was one of the first games I got for N64 back in the day. I never played the later releases of the series though.

The password is listed in the thread for disc 1. The password is: assemblergames

Oh, and welcome! If more people interested in the Acclaim archive join, maybe ASSEMbler will finally get started on dumping those data tapes.

Turok 2008 is horrible, can't we just purge that from history already? Anyways, welcome to the site!! Think you could PM me the link to that community? I'd be interested in checking it out :p

Don't get me wrong, I would really love to see the source code and possible level editors for the first two games, but I think I'm more interested in seeing unreleased beta files. I'm still trying to track down an old beta of Turok 1 from E3 that probably doesn't exist anymore.

we are lucky to play with a small community of players to turok2 online. A game that got more 10 years old
the saddest is the more we are losing time the less players play turok
