Hey guys! Here is another guy addicted to this wonderful world. I'm 20, from Uruguay and a fan of playing Namco/SEGA's good old arcade racing masterpieces from the 90's, and Vampire/Darkstalkers series among many others. I find fascinating reading about how these professional graphic chipsets developed by E&S and Lockheed Martin that were so ahead of the time managed to make it into amusement machines, and that in part is what makes me respect the two granddaddys of '3D CG RACING' so much. Well, I hope my stay is of your liking. I'm here to learn, and I wish sometime to contribute my grain of salt to the unvaluable resource of information this community is. Cheers!
Welcome to the community! Are you a fan of Daytona USA 2 by any chance? That's my all-time favourite arcade racer.
Thanks mate! Indeed, Daytona USA 2 is among my top 5 racers. Do you prefer Power Edition or Battle on the Edge? I'm still trying to break 2.45.xxx on TT Advanced with Phantom!
Power Edition, since I've never played Battle on the Edge. I haven't played any Daytona 2 for about 6 months actually, there's a machine at my local movie theatre back in Australia, but I can't find one here.
Well, Power Edition is tons better overall anyway! Same here, I haven't seen any machine in good condition for months.. Isn't there a Club SEGA in Akiba? I swear they had at least a Twin Daytona 2 PE in that one.. (can't remember which floor). In worst case scenario if you have a decent rig and a steering wheel (something like a G25/G27) or even a X360 pad you could give Supermodel 0.3a a go. Sure! It's not the same as the real thing but still- 60 fps @ 1920x1080 with Widescreen support, working sound, proper input mapping system and most graphical features emulated- worlds ahead of what MAME did 8 years ago.
I think there's one in Sega at Akiba, but whenever I go there it's usually with friends who want to play Street Fighter 3rd Strike, because Sega is one of the only places still with a 3rd Strike machine that we know of. I would do that, but A. I'm lazy and B. I would want to play with a wheel, and last time I checked those cost money.
Otro amigo latino! Saludos! Mi favorito es sega rally, el original, tengo vastante memorias con esa máquina.... y juegos y consolas sega son mi favorito Beinvenidos!
The few, the proud!
Welcome, yokoso. your country name sounds like "u r gay" lol, no offense just pointing out a funny sounding joke is all
Oh, really? I thought the scene there was more active these days! Anyway, setting up the animal is not as much as difficult as you think, and there are already configs uploaded by other users so you don't have to go through the process of mapping each axis and button.. I think you should save up some pennies because it's worth it! Some games that have their ROM Board emulated (SCUD Race/Daytona2) support FFB effects just fine. ¡Saludos para ti también Skyway! Your spanish is pretty good I have to say! Model 2 SEGA Rally is surely another masterpiece right with good ol' Daytona 94 and SEGA does hold a special place in my heart as well.. I'd love to own a twin cabinet setup, but no space for now, and most important of all, I'm poor! ¡Gracias! ¿Es pequeño el mundo verdad? No me lo esperaba. Sadly, I couldn't get to visit your stand there in MVD Comics (last time I was able to go to the event was in 2013 :'( ) but it seems like you a had a damn good time there! That exotic networked Gamecube setup isn't anything you get to see every day... even less in our little pretty country I'm one of the three guys who organize the Juegarte gaming event and this year we decided to host in addition a little LAN with yesteryear gaming pcs for the people to play all the good old classsics like DOOM, Half-life, Unreal and so on. Happily all in all things went great! but oh boy.. the pain.. Windows 98SE crashing and crashing was quite something to deal with.
si espanol es mi primer lenguaje! soy panameno y puerto riqueno , only thing is since im in the US the keyboard doesn't have what i need for proper grammer... lol
To get rid of the elephant in the room... MundoUno! Then we *might* have met or spoken, I've talked to Diego several times, we were actually going to help you in the latest Juegarte with the tournaments but we had some trouble (I was back in Ireland and my friend who was going had some personal issues). Also, I remember Emiliano saving our asses in Punta Anime 2012 on the second day as we had to leave, he showed up with an Xbox360. I hope I can go to a Juegarte one day!
