Sometime ago, I left my gamecube on with the WW disc in while I was on the computer. I found a trailer hidden in the menu. I recently pulled out my gamecube and decided to give it a shot again. Get the the WW title screen. Let the game run. Eventually, it will start playing the story you watch at the begining of the game. Let it run with out bothering it. After it finishes with the story, it will go back to the title screen. Let it run through this sequence. Now instead of the story, it will play a special movie! Kind of lame, but still a little awesome.
But is that really hidden? In quite a few JPN games they have two or more things that will show if a game idles for too long. I have one arcade game where if it idles too long it shows a short arcade video with 3d character models but if you let it idle longer it shows an anime intro.
Hmm. I tried looking for this on youtube and google but couldn't find anything. Guess i will have to give it a whirl. When you say "Let the game run" are you talking minutes or hours?
at this point a video of this would be appreciated, given that time is a precious commodity for most of us
I d have to dig up wind waker from god knows where and that's a half hour lost already there..yeah, really want, big nintendo fan here.
Pfff. If you really where a big nintendo fan you wouldn't care how long it would take and you would have already left to go do it instead of posting that. ;-)
Hey I though about this a bit. Is the second intro a FMV that shows off gameplay elements (like him sailing around?). I think I saw this intro in the past. It had a good song. -edit- This one (better quality) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1AVNa8q8T8 (****ing board)
If you let Wipeout 64 run for quite a while (was 10-30mins or so) some funny messages appear on the billboards in demo mode. I think they said "wanker" and "eat, piss, sleep" or something like that
Nice. Actually I like the hidden Insult mode found in Wave Race BS for Gcn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-QfJ1jsmag
 WTF!? Is this actually real? I dont want to go get Blue Storm out just to have it be fake... if not though, that is some funny stuff! Easter Eggs always make your favorite of games just that much better. (Not that WRBS is my fav.)
I remember playing Four Sword Adventures and somehow while playing with three other family members we triggered what looked to be the Japanese title screen on a US copy of the game.
It was only uncovered recently, too. Makes you wonder how many other games have similar things that nobody outside of the developers have ever known about.
You really have to be hush hush about this when you do or you can really loose your job over it. If I could I would have snuck things in some of the games I worked on but the publishers where being really anal to check everything. =(
