Took a "couple" of pictures of the Hitachi Navy Saturn for those who might be interested.
Not 100% sure it's fully complete though, if someone can confirm ?

I don't know why some disappeared from the Sd Card o_O (mainly the pictures of the controller)

Never mind, here is some more:

    Paper works:

Hum, look like there is something that was hidden inside this one:

Hmm, I thought a new colour of Saturn had been discovered when I saw the title... now I see you meant NAVI Saturn, lol! ;)

Bloody hell, that's more than a couple of pictures! Thanks for sharing, though!

Any reason why they're in 0th bit, mind you?!

Nothing like the offer of sweet sweet pixelated Japanese VCD porn to compliment my Sega Saturn purchase.

It doesn't look like it came with any sort of screen attachment and yet it clearly has GPS capabilities. Just how in the world did Hitachi anticipate people use the damn thing for navigation? Japanese cars come with built in screens and power inverters back in the late 90s as a standard option?

yes they did. The first time I got in a car in Japan was 1997 and yes, it had a flat screen LCD TV with navi in it. What has happened to this country? Japan was the leading innovation for electronics for so long and now what do they lead in? Not electronics that's for sure.

There was a screen available for sale, but that had to be bought separately. Indications are that screens were produced in 1/2 the numbers of the console itself.

There was also a TV Tuner as seen in the scan above. Good luck finding that though! Some piccies in this thread :)

cyberguile - It looks like the screws, red clips, and possibly some of the 'straps' are missing? If you check the manual, ALL original contents are listed.

Also I suspect that quite a lot of the documentation you picture (the porn etc) was added after the fact. Certainly it is not listed in the manual and I have seen a new console opened and none of that sort of gubbins was inside!

Edit - Actually, as an aside, is there not a one-off light blue saturn? Like the silver / gold units, but light blue? Coulda sworn I saw a piccie of it a while back.

The porn and VCD papers are not with the navi Saturn when buying it. Hitachi and Polygram have no connection to indicate a promotion deal for the VCD.

What I've always wondered is, how the hell would you actually fit this thing in a car? Surely not in the front seat. Plus Japanese cars are often very tiny.
