I just connected my hkt 01 and it boots fine to the menu. It won't recognize any discs however - it won't play Chu Chu (original), and neither does it accept copies. It just checks the disc, and goes back to the menu. :smt017 'Play' just results in 'insert game disc'. Do I have to configure it in some special way, or am I (as I assume) basicly f*cked ? :smt022 Edit: I ran the selftest too ofcourse and everything seems to be fine :smt009
It won't accept CD-R because it is not MIL-CD Compatable. You need to a) make sure it is not in emulator mode b) make sure the rotary switch is the same region as the disc you are booting. Also, it is a HKT-0120 not HKT-01 (look underneath!) :smt023
b) should be fine (switched to 9, Europe), but how do I do a) ? And yeah, you're right, it *is* a HKT-0120, I know... I just saw lots of people mentioning the HKT 01 so I figured everyone just dropped the 20 or something
To do a) you need to have the dev box hooked upto a PC vis SCSI-II cables. In addition you need the Dreamcast Rxx SDK aswell as the latest Adaptec ASPI drivers installed on your windows PC. It cna then be changed using CodeScape or DACheck. I'd wager 99% of people who call it a HKT-01 have never actually owned 1 ... only seen a pic :smt043
