I was clearing out my lockup today and happened upon a box of games that were either duplicates or games I'd finished/didnt like and didn't want to keep at my place.

This is before I include my personal copies! second hand shops selling these for 25p will be the death of me.

    Anyone got anything similar?

Woah the sims expansions, too bad you can't even burn those for heat because of all the carcinogens in the plastic....

i had a similar thing with gta san andreas on the PS2, keep picking them up cheap in charity shops and had about a dozen at one point. Finally bundled most away but still have a fair few.

I have close to 30 genesis consoles. Still have not managed to find all the board revisions.

I feel the pains. It's worse when you purchase a game having no clue that you already had it at home.

im starting to feel like im hoarding mega drives....not quite 30 more about 12...but thats enough for me lol, but i keep picking them up with either dodgy power supplies or no power supply thinking that one day i will find a bunch of them....finally ended up just getting some replacement tips for the dodgy ones i have.......is it just me or where the megadrive power supplies really crappy on the pin end compared to snes wire reliability i have only had like 2 snes power supplies with broken wires and usually its on the bloc end so i can simply open it up and trim it back and its as good as new, whilst i have about 6 faulty mega drives one all faulty on the pin end meaning i have to get replacement tips

in a funny turn of events im hording snes power supplies expecting to find a bunch of snes/nes consoles which also are not turning up for me

one day im sure all the consoles will be reunited with their official power supplies

I have 3 (4 if you count that clone thing), and I feel that's too many.

This is nothing compared to many people here, but at one time I had about 6 dreamcasts and countless controllers, and I felt a little shameful for having so much surplus hardware in a box for years while just using one console and two controllers 99% of the time. I've since downsized to 4 dreamcasts and about 5 1st party controllers. On a psychological level, there is something to be said for trimming some of the surplus in a collection if you feel like it is going to waste.

I am currently running out of room and spend time reducing my inventory, as a result I just ordered a box of 25 NES controller. ( To sell some of my 15 nes consoles as kits )

I don't have that kind of problem. The closest thing I have to that was when I was little and I lost my copy of Spyro Orange. I later found a multicart that had Crash Purple and Spyro Orange. Shortly after that I found the first copy that I lost. So now I have two copies of Spyro Orange.

I have quite a few duplicates. I'm trying to sell some of them. I usually only buy a duplicate of a game if I find one for very cheap and/or if it's a game I really like and thus want a backup copy in case something happens to the other one. In some cases I have duplicates because the other copy is damaged. I don't think I've ever bought a duplicate of a game by accident - my collection is small (relative term here) enough that I can always remember if I have a game or not. Strange how that works - there's no way I could list all of my games from memory, but if you ask me if I have a game or not, I know the answer immediately. So when I buy a duplicate, it's always intentional. I'll take some pictures later.

I no longer buy duplicates on accident, as I use a site that has an android app. However, I do end up with duplicates because I have no problem buying a cheap lot to get something I need.

I'd take photos of my office/spare room if I wasn't ashamed of the pile of cardboard boxes and bubble wrap I need to clean up... And the 1/6 scale figures in pieces across my desk.

    Currently in the office:

    1. A wardrobe with boxes stacked to the top of it containing old Famitsu magazines. Spare Clock Tower items, to the extent I probably have about another three COMPLETE collections of the majority of the retail items in near perfect but used condition (no cracks, they have manuals and the games all have their obi. Some of the guidebooks don't) in the wardrobe alone.

Two are filled with extra guidebooks and the like for backups in my CT collection. Another drawer is filled with demo discs, Famitsu DVDs and so-on. PlayStation Club disc spares are ALSO in there.

Another drawer has extra copies of Drag-on Dragoon/Drakengard stuff. Another has Syphon Filter spares. The last one has a mixture of Biohazard/Resident Evil crap, a lot of duplicates. How many fucking copies of RE4 on PC do I have? I have no idea.

    3. There's about 7 80cm HD televisions in boxes next to my parcel rubbish pile (my recycle bin is full, waiting for a council rubbish day to dump it all).

    4. My drawers under my desk are full of trial edition copies of games. An entire drawer filled with Clock Tower 2 - The Door of the Fear - Trial Editon, I don't even know how many copies I have of it! There's more than 20 at the very least. Other drawers under my desk are filled with company press DVDs or VHS tapes.

    5. You know those ottomans that also double as storage? Yeah, I have a few of those. Filled with Persona merchandise, including one filled with Persona 3 movie Evoker water guns. Another one has press materials (flyers) and other stuff mixed together and stacked whenever possible into folders.

    6. On the very top of all of the boxes and next to my desk are masses upon masses of poster tubes. Clock Tower/Demento posters. Resident Evil posters. I also have a few Alice: Madness Returns posters due to the Akaneiro Kickstarter.

    The basement:

    1. Massive box filled with promotional VHS tapes.
    2. Another pile of boxes with game magazines, discs and DVDs.
    3. ANOTHER nearly complete Clock Tower/DEMENTO collection (all games, guidebooks and so-on).
    4. Boxes of extra Resident Evil games (all regions), a folder of spare game manuals and the like.
    5. Box just filled with PS1 consoles. Another box next to it is filled with official controllers. Another has a shitload of third party controllers, mixture of memory cards...
    6. An entire plastic tub filled with spare cables for these consoles.
    7. Box of weird bootleg/knock off stuff I've found including Chinese guidebooks, dodgy copies of games, soundtracks and so-on.

.... This is only counting some of my stuff. Not counting the storage locker we have in America with my husband's own stuff. Which includes MORE Resident Evil shit and for whatever reason, we have a ton of standees and shit for the Resident Evil movies and some other weird stuff like a MASSIVE Scream 4 poster.

I'm gonna drown under gaming magazines at this rate. I've also got some of those big Ikea bookcases and have plastic storage tubs stacked in them and some fabric storage boxes filled with more duplicate copies of games, gaming magazines and the like the bedroom in Australia. Also under the television in the living room in Australia. My own wardrobe here also has boxes of official Final Fantasy jewelry and stuff in there.

Wardrobe in America is stacked with consoles or consoles in their original boxes.

    .... And I am a massive fucking hoarder apparently. >_>;

.... I gotta find somewhere to offload all these Famitsu issues once they're all scanned in.

I don't know (probably upwards of 10) and there are massive spiders (I'm in Australia) in the basement so unless someone helps me get the box down, I can't check it. My husband is currently in the US so it won't likely happen.
