Dude, I had like 50 or something back in the day (high school -- about 12 years ago to be exact). You know those box sets? X1 & X2... had 'em. Some fuck-nut broke into my house though and stole them all. Painful. Oh, well... we had a good insurance policy though. I did grab a Japanese 101 before leaving Japan (has the nice booklet) but Violator I could never find. Comes w/ the Enjoy the Silence single in a nice double-CD case. Anyways, some hobbies I've had (on and off) -Anime (this is what initially sparked my interest in Japan. I was really burned out on anime though some months before moving to Japan, and have watched almost nothing since. I did, however, DL all of the Maison Ikkoku episodes for old times sake. A very good series) -Computers (more my job, but also a hobby) -Computer Graphics. I like dicking around in photoshop and Flash, but haven't done much recently other than what goes into the site. -DJing. (I gave this up a few years ago. A very expensive hobby, and they only way to be good at it is to submerge yourself in a very drug-centralized world, whether you take them or not. Either way, I'm too old for that shit) -Poker. Yet to find a home game, but this is my main current hobby outside of games. -Surfing. I suck, but it's fun -Fitness. I fucked my back up in September, so haven't gotten back "into" it since moving until recently. I've already put on 5 pounds though, and am on my way to being a fat American. -Japanese. I quit studying about 5 years ago, letting my daily conversation be my road to improvement. It improved my conversation, but not much else. Every other aspect has been frozen in time for some years now. I need to expand the vocab, which is what I'm doing now.
My main hobby just now seems to be looking for a different job, mine sux. Other than that, reading I guess. It is about all I have time for (having kids aged 2 & 4 years dont help you to have spare time :-D ). I'm planning to take up riding BMX again in the summer and maybe get into making some street art in the next few weeks, stencils/spaying burnt out cars etc. Oh, I like to :drinkers: too
I enjoy computers, although that hobby has gone downhill for awhile now. Collecting old PC games is one of my "things", too (got Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri for Christmas ). Screwing with my Xbox has taken up a lot of my time (I put a blue cold cathode under the front panel and a 200 gig hard drive in just this weekend). Reading is what I used to do plenty, but have stopped for awhile. My brain has been fried for the past year or so (school sucks). I used to skateboard but gave that up once I realized I sucked and didn't enjoy it anyway.
Yeah, I have my fair share of Underdogs downloads, but unlike a lot of people, I take the time to hunt them down and actually (*gasp*) buy them.
i collect old macs and network them all together. i have a bunch of software i doubt has ever seen the light of day, and a small collection of rare games and oddities. i have made a hobby at repairing macs...well except the LC. i dont like the LCs. the thing i enjoy the most though, is fixing up old mac periphials that were designed for the disabled. the blind, deaf, paralysed ect. old tempest computers are starting to intrest me i might start working on some of their early macintosh models...but i cant seem to find a good collection of them. does anyone collect games for the mac, am i the only one?
I have LOADS of old macs but I have yet to find enough parts to actually hook one up... I have 3 monitors but no DB15 cable... I used to have a 14" mac monitor but my mom threw it out... so now I'm stuck with a PowerMac, 2 Quadra's, and upgraded Centris and about 15 LC's... and no way to use them :smt022
Antipasta I think I've seen old mac stuff in pawnshops, and I'm almost certain a friend collects mac stuff. If I have the chance, I'll ask around and see if I can help you.
