    hi folks,

i just noticed this in an ebay posting:

".. one Mark III cartridge, Hokuto no Ken (the Japanese version of the SMS game Black Belt) ..."

i definitely had _no_ idea black belt was a Hokuto No Ken Game..

long ago i had like a lightning-bolt realization that the us genesis launch title Last Battle was also a renamed Fist of The Northstar title..

uh so anyway, i am wondering if any of y'all deeply knowledgeable folks can help me out with these questions:

    - what other Hokuto No Ken titles were renamed for US release? It would seem to be a licensing issue, as the NES had a Fist of The North Star title, so it's no surprise that sega wouldn't have the rights at that point, maybe same deal for the genesis .. as far as i know, no other Hokuto No Ken games have made it stateside since then.

    - maybe appropriate for another topic, but, if anyone can list off the top of their heads, other Hokuto No Ken games for any platform since then, that'd be cool too.. i know of a couple for SNES and PSX but im pretty sure they didnt make it over here.

    ...........

I played last battle on the genesis, reminds me off rolling thunder/china war/ninja warriros, games like that.

But anyonw ever played the arcade "fist of the north star"? It was retitlted to Fighting Mania. The machine consisted of 6 pressure punch pads with the screen in the middle. You went through a series of battles defeating enermys etc. It was some crazy stuff, a pretty good workout as well, my only beef with the machine was the crappy foam padded plastic boxing mits, you would catch the skin on your knuckles and end up either cutting your knuckles open or getting blisters. It was like a rythem game, punch the pad when it pops up, and when you did a special move ALL six pads popped out and you had to do it in a sequence to do the move......crazy crazy stuff......
