Let's go Nintendo - you've got some pretty amazing hardware, but it's funny and sad that Sega can use it better than you.

the video is unreal... even when the picture is blown up 10 times, there is no pixelation... It looks just like a console game... It literaly rivals MKDD... and the framrate is fast too... Between this, NFSU2, and lost in blue, the DS has been flexing its muscle as of late...

 

Now this is the way al DS games should look..sleek tight 3D graphics with no slow down and best of all 8-player wireless multiplayer fun !! rayer:

Lol, the framerate is horrible, i hope it's cause of the movie encoding.
And on a polygonal point of view, there aren't many compared to mario on GC...

Well it's a portable system...

pay really close attention to the ds the president of nintendo is using, it has some kind of green thing on the top screen, could that be something that lets you use it on tv? kinda weird, btw i think the game does look really good, alot better than the videos nintendo showed about 2 months ago.

 

Touch Yoshi just came out which is a Touch Screen game. I'm pretty enthused about this. If all games fullly utlized they touch screen, I probably wouldn't have bougth a DS.

 

Still looks shit to me. Looks like a PSX game. Man, the PSP is going to fuck this up.

I'm sure the PSP is very impressive and the games all look magnificent and stuff, but the DS is also a very impressive machine.

I still don't know which one to buy - actually. Leaning slightly towards the DS because of the GBA compatibility... there's lots of SWEET 2D stuff on that one.

I'm sure, in a couple of years, after there has been a PSP launch in the States and there actually IS software for either system, we will know which one fucks the other one up. If that's the technical term.

So.... yeah.

 

Shame about the no GB support, though.

Odd that, GBA is backwards compatible. DS has a GBA port, but it WON'T take GB carts. Hmm.

I've seen the video on the big screen in "Game Planet", a local, VERY expensive game store (and one of the only ones that sell only legitimate stuff...at about twice the price).

It's pretty cool, but I'm sure I'd get dizzy looking at the map in one screen and the race in the other. It still looks very sweet.

What I'm not very convinced of yet is the "new super mario" game. It's sort of polygonal and sort of 2D and the movements look somewhat awkward... though the idea of turning into a giant godzilla-like mario is very cool.

Anyone seen that vid?

To be honest you're not missing a great deal; think Mario Kart 64 meets Double Dash. You'll get to play it in a few months anyway ;-)
