Hello Everyone, I thought since this forum receives little stimulating discussion maybe I would add some. Perhaps the best result from the "hacking" of the Xbox and the Xbox 360 is the ability to run your own code, that is, run "homebrew" software. (Not to say that the Xbox was the first, of course) I develop software and my interests particularly involve game development; you can see my attraction to writing custom software for the Xbox and Xbox 360 platforms. To my main point: Let's discuss homebrew for the Xbox (or Xbox 360 so a new thread doesn't need to be created). What is your favorite homebrew application? If you develop homebrew, what are some projects that you've worked on?
Homebrew projects. I have been working on some arcade touchscreen games that are based on dos. They use a pretty difficult protection mechanism with hardware dongles. Xport released the sources of his xbox dosbox port, so in theory, I think it's possible to emulate the dongle as well. The touchscreen can be replaced by a mouse cursor. I don't think mame already support one of those.
I have made one application that is the scripting for the customer. They can easily get the data from the server. This application I called applienz which is totally windows application.
