I know what I'm doing this weekend I just got a TON of Kung FU and Hong Kong action films. House of Flying Daggers, Enter the Dragon (well not technically hong kong but still kick ass), My Young Auntie, The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (Becuase I can't call my self a Wu tang Fan with out it), Hard Boiled, and Kill Zone.

Plus I still have the Protector to watch.

Anywho I'm sure there are more than a few Canosaurs of the genre so after I go though this pile, what else is recomended?

Dragon Dynasty is putting some Good Shit out it seems.

Jackie Chan movies are hard to find in their original language. For that matter I haven't found any Jackie Chan Movies in 16:9 Thank the Kung Fu Movie Gods for Dragon Dynasty.

    Action/Heroic Bloodshed:
    Police Story 1, 2 & 3
    A Better Tomorrow 1, 2 & 3
    God Of Gamblers
    The Killer
    Bullet in the Head
    Once a Thief
    Full Contact
    City on Fire
    The Corruptor
Replacement Killers (a Hollywood movie but a good Chow Yun Fat HK style action flick)
    Saviour of the Soul
    Dragons Forever
    Meals on Wheels

    Classic/great Kungfu:

All Bruce Lee movies (Fist of Fury, Big Boss, Way of the Dragon, Game of Death - ignore all others)
    Hero
    Chinese Ghost Story
    Dragon Lord
    Shaolin Intruders
    The Blood Brothers
    Drunken Master 1&2
    Snake in the Eagle's Shadow
    Dance of the Drunken Mantis
    Avenging Eagle
    Mystery of Chess Boxing
    7 Grand Masters
    Five Deadly Venoms
    Fist of the White Lotus
    The Secret Rivals
Master of the Flying Guillotine (as mentioned above)
    Fist of Legend
    Iron Monkey
    Young Master
    Buddhist Fist
    Invincible Pole Fighter
The Legend of Fong Sai Yuk
    Kids of Shaolin
    The Blazing Temple
    Shaolin Challenges Ninja
    Once Upon A Time In China 1 & 2
    Warriors Two
    Executioners of Shaolin

Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle are very good modern kung fu movies and extremely funny.

As a rule of thumb, NEVER buy dubbed versions. Go for subtitled, especially for action/heroic bloodshed. Sometimes dubbing adds to Kungfu appeal, but only for the corny Walmart budget movies. eBay is a good source, but there are plenty of online DVD stores in Hong Kong. I used to have a list but I can't find it.

I dislike most of Jackie Chan's Western stuff until Shanghai Noon/Rush Hour

I Always look for subs. But alot of classics lack them. I don't even thing most of Sonny Chiba's movies are available in their orignial Japanese.

You know Kung Fu Hustle actually made me cry....the whole candy store thing and the side plot with that mute girl......it made me a little dewey eyed.

Yeees more Bruce lee fans :D Can this site get any better!.

GodofHardcore why do you say it gets worse everytime you see it? I think it gets better for me its amazing and if you have the right set up get the blue ray version since you can see a difference makes it like new again :p. A lot of his other films are really good to IE fist of fury now that is a classic also. Bruce lee, Jet li, Jackie Chan and Chow Yun Fat all make some of the best films I have ever seen

Bruce Lee's best movie is Fist of Fury, Aka The Chinese Connection (I think, in the USA).

Second was Big Boss, third Enter The Dragon, fourth Way of the Dragon, fifth Game of Death (because it was not finished when he died).

Enter the Dragon just seems cheesy when I first saw it. Of course Good Ol' Bruce has some good lines......that have me saying "the hell is he talking about" But the whole plot was like.......lets put bruce lee in a James Bond Movie.

the picture quality on the new DVD is great and all and the movie isn't bad if you turn your brain off. But Each time I see it I like it less and less.

I think had he finished Game of Death it'd been awesome.

I don't think anyone watches Bruce Lee or kung fu movies in general for the plot or storylines

Not to say there are not some with good storylines, but the majority are pretty poor.

For somebody who was supposed to be so smart you expect some degree of depth out of Bruce lee.

Took me awhile to figure out what The Art of Fighting with out Fighting ment.

Whoa there, let's not say things we don't mean. The Bruce Lee movies are action movies intended to show the skill and ferocity of Lee's martial arts, not serious drama. If you watch the non-dubbed versions then the content is a lot better, but Chinese cinema at that time was not very advanced and less professional than it is now.
