Obviously it'd require some modification to be as useful as an Xrgb-2 (mainly allowing it to take component from any source and adapting the USB power to a standard power plug), but it is a lot cheaper. But how does it perform?
just one thing. it says the output is 640x480 but as you know Xbox can output 720p/1080i w/ certain titles so you are losing out on those??? I found VGA box too much of hassle/trouble previously. I had X-Digital XVGA box which was one of first batch I orderd and although it worked well with 480p had an issue with 1080i (and there was no 720p titles back then) so I sold it on eBay... Was quite cheap though - cost me around $30-40 shipped from Germany from memories... cheers
Why don't these things ever have prober RGB inputs? All* of today's consoles have RGB outputs, so it's not gonna make it some niche market thing, and it would produce the ultimate quality as there'll be no colour conversion or anything. *Well this is true in PAL land anyway - I hear the NTSC Gamecube doesn't have RGB out...? The PS2 definately does everywhere.
coz apart from some Euro TV no telly comes with RGB input nowadays... even upmarket fancy telly only comes with YUV or DVI bt no RGB... :smt022 (we are talking about the comumer telly not professional ones)
