Many of you have items with metal security anchors glued to the unit. The clamp is aluminum, over a rubber middle insert, glued to the surface. Tape and tin foil off the anchor. With a hair dryer, heat the anchor and slowly peel it off the rubber / plastic middle layer. Remove the metal layer carefully, as the plastic of the system will have become brittle. The glue under the anchor gives easily. Bend up a corner of the aluminum anchor if needed, but put no pressure on the plastic of the system. Once removed, you will have the rubber or plastic middle layer stuck to the system. Heat that and slowly peel it off the system. Remove most of the cyanoacrilate with a crazy glue remover. You have to order it online. In a worst case scenario, you will need extremely fine grit sandpaper and wet sand the surface flat. You won't have the best looking system, but the anchor will be gone.
After that... time to pick out your new system paint color. Thanks, ASSEMbler, I was just thinking about doing this.
use plastic putty that can be bought at most hobby shops mold it in then sand the entire system and repaint . note sand with three * steel wool use painters tape to cover sticker . don't forget to prime it will stick even better with primer.
Why on earth would you sand and and repeat an entire debug/dev PS? Just sand down the residue, sand it down until the paint would stick and apply it just to the sanded section. Take a picture/example of the paint to a store and the store will track it down.
I always was curious about the whole anchor thing. When acclaim would use these units would they have them held down with a security chain so theft wouldn't occur?
