I prediceted that shadowlayer would be wrong about all sorts of crazy shit...like 4 years ago. Damn, I'm awesome.
Just checked my threads, nowhere I said the iPod was going to fail (shit, when I joined it was already selling like crazy). I did however, made a thread predicting the iphone would fail or underperform, and it was entirely based on the launch system being US only, where you had to pay $600 AND a 2 year plan, coupled with no dev enviroment which meant almost no apps beyond those that came with the phone. A new 3G version, worldwide release, 1/3 of the price, double the memory and an almost completely open development enviroment changes everything. Fuck, had I said something about the AGPS it would've been perfect (they replaced it with a real GPS).
It was the iPhone, actually. Sorry.. got ahead of myself. http://assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12799&highlight=iPhone When has hardware never been become obsolete six months later? W/ Apple, it's usually half of that. Hardly a surprise... besides, even the original sold like gang busters.
AGPS will never be as good as the real deal, and EDGE on the iphone was obsolete from day one, the problem was that for apple to get the AT&T contract, the iphone had to work on that protocol. The SDK and appstore were firmware updates, but could become game changers in the immediate future. And sales were slightly down after the launch hype was over. I think apple might been afraid of the iphone becoming a fad, who knows... Yeah I know the feeling, pretty much what I get everytime I have to read one of your troll posts.
