How far can you get in ____________ without dying?

The last 2 or 3 weeks of so I've grown obsessed with Sonic 2.

My challenge to myself was to see how far into Sonic 2 I can get without dying Currently I can get as far as Mystic Cave 2

I was just going to make this about how far into sonic 2 you can all get but that can get old pretty old so, besides sonic 2 any other games you can either A) Get really far into before losing a Life or B) clear with out dying.

I tried to get through Mega Man X without dying the other day, like I used to in High School.

I did kill every boss until the first Sigma stage without dying.

I can still finish the original Star Fox in the easy route without dying - at least I could like 2 months ago.

I used to clear Thunder Force V in one credit back in the day. I should try, once I get a new, viable machine that can play PSX games (my PS2 won't play PSX copies).

 

Let me guess that shaft in Sigma's fortress where enemies just respawn...and respawn...and respawn? The trick is to use charged Sting Chameleon.
Thunder Force V 1cc is impressive too.

I wonder if anybody has done Ninja Gaiden.

 

I've attempted completing Ninja Gaiden without dying and managed to make it to the last stage but ultimately failed to finish it with all lives in tact. That end portion is merciless. As for the games I actually can complete without a death, they are Super Mario Bros. 1-3, Sonic 2, Mega Man II (Game Boy) and the Legend of Zelda.

 

It's shameful, but in modern games these days, I only play a game until I die. If I die, I just quit and do something else. Not a lot has held my attention in the last year or so.

 

I can't really remember, but I used to clear some shoot'em ups without dying. The ones I do remember are:

Solar Striker
Nemesis 1 & 2 (GB)
Gradius (nes)
Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius (sat)
Batsugun Special (1st loop)
Vimana (arc)
OutZone (arc)
Gate of Thunder
Super Star Soldier
Nexzr
Same Same Same (MD)
Fast Striker (MVS) (in Novice, Original and Maniac)

I almost 1-lifed ESPGaluda Arcade-Mode (lost only 1 life at the final form of the final boss, but this death eventually increased my final score so I can't even say it's been a mistake!). I even uploaded this run on super-play.co.uk if I recall correctly.

 

Sonic 2? Probably up to Metropolis Zone, some enemies there can be a real bitch...
As far as other games go: Metal Slug 1, until the 3rd level usually and I've sometimes gotten up to level 3 of Ikaruga without dying (nothing great, really)

technically you can't die in fire pro.

I'd be more impressed if you knew the menus without a guide

Actually at one point I had played it so much that I did know them. That was years ago though.

lol!! i've experienced quite a bit in recent years. it seems like every game these days has an overly long tutorial level that's just more annoying than informative.

 

Wuss. I've done entire games without being busted/dying.

I attempted a no death streets of rage 2 run once. Required easy mode and a lot of use of the running uppercut move (Press the direction you want to go in twice and then B) Not easy. Especially when the special moves use up health.

 

The 10 lives code works wonders for a nodeath run in SOR 2

 

I got through most of Dead Money without dying even once, until I got to vault with the fucking holograms....
