Wow i screwed the title up *How*

Hey I got a friend wanting me to buy two Neo geos. One AES and the other is a Neo Geo Cd. He is asking 80 plus what ever it will be to ship from out of the country. He says both dont work but not sure whats wrong with them. Is this worth picking up and if so how hard would it to repair them. I know with out knowing whats wrong it will be hard to tell but most common repairs are they hard

If you aren't experienced with electronics repair and diagnosing it could be quite hard. Plenty of things could be wrong. Bad capacitors, blown fuses, broken traces on the PCB, dirty connector, power regulator, or what would be the death nail, fried or otherwise broken custom ICs. Chances are if he didn't abuse the systems some how they could be repaired if you knew what you were doing. The CD system might just be that the CD-ROM assembly needs fixing or replacement which might not be that bad but probably won't be cheap.

If you're up for tinkering around, 80 for both isn't bad. If you are just wanting to get a NeoGeo, you might be disappointed if you can't fix it.
