Hi all, Does anyone here who owns the (seemingly uber rare) DTL-H1500, know how it is supposed to be connected and used? Its description seems to be something along the lines of a standalone DEX unit that is connected via TCP/IP. It sounds a lot like the PlayStation 2 TOOL. The PlayStation 2 TOOL does have some (unused?) DECI modules: DECI1, DECI1DRP and DECI1DR1. DECI1DR1 is the H1500 driver. These modules are to be interfaced via the PSNET MRP driver, and the PSNET tools (which I have never seen before). DECI1 is the DECI manager, which requires DECI1DR1. DECI1DRP is the PIF (or "miniRA", whatever that means!) driver. Based on the possible DIP switch positions for the DSW602 board and the descriptions of these drivers, it seems like the TOOL has a PlayStation mode that has the IOP kernel. It may provide access to a H1500, to the SBC board (via PSNET, over the PIF). The other PlayStation mode that has the PS kernel, also seems to involve the H1500 in some way. But I have not actually disassembled its PlayStation monitor ROM (TBIN) yet. There is probably also a standalone mode, but I don't see how it would work on its own (there is no PS1DRV program in ROM). Although it is possible that PS1DRV would have been loaded via DECI2. So if there is no way for the H1500 to be connected to the TOOL, perhaps there is a H1500 implemented within the TOOL itself. It is also possible that they belong to an incomplete system, that was discontinued and left to rot. If the PSNET tools are meant to be used like the DSNET tools, the PlayStation DEX units used them too, and the H1500 was also meant to be used with them, perhaps SONY never made special PSNET tools for interfacing with the H1500.
Kevin maybe still have his h1500. Only information i have is: http://lorezan.free.fr/ps1/sceedevnews0996.jpg uploaded by unclejun i think. Comes out on the last time of the ps1 with the h800.
Never seen one personally, but there are pictures here http://www.psxdev.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=1011 I doubt it has anything to do with a tool, it looks like it uses the same power adapter as the DTL-H1100. The only other PS1 style connector on it is the parallel port. As the article says "designed to make the standard debug station accessible as a single threaded TCP/IP server", then I suspect this box may plug into a standard debug station like a huge action replay cartridge. However the 9 pin D and what looks a bit like a scsi connector may be the video/sound/controller/memory card/serial and you may just need the right cables. Pictures of the inside of one and rom dumps would obviously be welcome.
A screenshot of the setup software, and no, I don't have the H1500 hardware, just the setup disc: And the readme:
Yes, someone mirrored it at http://www.4shared.com/rar/Aa5hu32E I can give you a direct link by PM if you prefer.
does anyone have these SGI programs? "Following files exist under the directory "sgi/bin". 1) reset15 Reset Debugging Station 2) bload15 Download binary data to Debugging Station 3) run15 Download program code to Debugging Station then execute 4) pload15 Download program code to Debugging Station 5) pgo15 Direct the Debugging Station for program execution" or windows equivalents?
They are in the archive linked by unclejun, in the same folder you quoted (for sgi). Or did I misunderstand your question?
