How many different PSX-only (not ps2) dev kits and psx dev related stuff are there? I know there's: DTL-H1001 (Blue debug unit, what's the green one then?) DTL-H2000 (ISA boards) DTL-H201A (Video Adaptor - can't this be homemade??) DTL-H2010 (CD-Rom for H2000) DTL-H2080 (Double controller/memory card holder...isn't there a single one as well??) DTL-H2500 (PCi board?) DTL-H3001 (Yazroze) What's a DTL-H2700? I think I may be missing some sound boards, graphics boards, and a CD-Emulator board? Lastly, what is the Performance Analyzer? I was given it and when I installed it, the ABOUT says it's for DTL-H2700. Won't it work on H2500 or H2000?
Green debug PSX is DTL-H12xx series: DTL-H1200 (JAP NTSC version utilising 100v AC power supply) DTL-H1201 (USA NTSC version utilising 100v AC power supply) DTL-H1202 (European/Australian PAL version utilising 240v power supply) 110v AC also works though! Anyone know the advantages of the older blue version over the newer green unit or vice versa......? There is also a DTL-H110X series. These are blue debug units although they run on 12v DC like the new PStwo.
Cool! I didn't know about the different versions of blue. I have a blue one but I got ripped off: it's a modded board inside. It still looks nice!
The H2700 is a hardware device similar to the H2500. The software for it (the performance analyser) will not work with the 2000 or 2500. Basically, the PA will log certain details about how the program is working. Things like DMA loads, memory stalls and such. Basically it enables you to write faster software.
There's two good ways of telling if you're being ripped off when buying a debug PSX or debug PS2 1) When a debug PSX first loads a game and displays the black screen with the "PS" family logo, the ONLY text you should see under the logo is "Licensed by Sony Computer Entertainment xxxxxxx" Replace the xxxxxxx with "Europe" if playing a PAL game, "America" for a NTSC U/C game and "Inc." for a NTSC J game. On a retail PSX you'll always get either a "SCEE", "SCEA" or a "SCEI" logo at the very bottom of the screen. This depends on the region of the motherboard. For example, if you have a NTSC U/C PSX retail console but you chip it and you play a UK PAL game on it, you will get "Licenced by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe" but you'll then get the text "SCEA" underneath because the console is NTSC U/C. AN OFFICIAL DEBUG PSX WILL NOT DISPLAY THIS INFORMATION. The same trick works for a PS2 debug console too but ONLY when playing a PSone game. The second trick is to open the console. On the piece of metal covering the main motherboard is a sticker with the serial number. This number MUST match the sticker on the underside of the console. If it doesn't or has been removed, then there is a very very very high chance the motherboard has been swapped. Again, a PS2 also has a sticker on the metal covering the motherboard displaying the serial number. They are little white stickers. They are about an inch long and quarter of an inch high. Hope the above makes sense and that you don't get ripped off again.
I didn't know that info about the sticker! I know it's not a real board though. (ie: I see the modchip wired to the board)
I thought I read somewhere that Gran Turismo was programed using the Performance Anaylzer. Anyhow, is the 2700 the same as the 2500 in the sense that it's one PCI board?
I used to have a pair of DTL-H1102's as well hehe which are not on the list. I also have some of the DTL's for sale
DTL-H1102's were Blue Pal PSX Debuggers, I sold both of mine already. I've also sold a pair of DTL-T14000's (PSTOOL CD?DVD Emu boards), a pair of DTL-H201A (Graphics Artist' board)and several boxed DTL--H2080's (Double controller ports) I've only got 1x Sony DTL-H2050 *single* Controller port adapter and 1x Sony DTL--H2080 *double* Controller port adapter boxed left now though hehe.
No pics sorry, but I was asking £15GBP each delivered. The 2050 is a single controller + mem card port for use with the DTL-2000/DTL-25000/DTL-2700, the 2080 is the same but a double unit.
>What's the utility of DTL-H201A it a real time emu psx graphic engine show to video eg: you open you graphic, 3D mode and show up to video make sure no problem when you make in game
Ok, I did some research and I guess these are the dev kits available. From the output here, this is final: DTL-H2000 - ISA cards DTL-S2020 - CD-Rom emulator DTL-H2010 - CD-Rom drive DTL-H201A - Graphics Artist board/Video Adaptor DTL-H2080 - Double controller & memory card port DTL-H2050 - Single controller & memory card port DTL-H700 - Optical sound board for Macs DTL-H800 - Optical sound boards for PCs DTL-H1000/1/2 - blue debugging station (JP/NTSC/PAL) DTL-H1100/1/2 - blue debugging units with 12v DC power (JP/NTSC/PAL) DTL-H1200/1/2 - green debugging station (JP/NTSC/PAL) DTL-H2500 - PCi cards DTL-H2510 - Internal CD-Rom DTL-H2700 - Isa board & analyzer board DTL-H3000/1/2 - Yaroze development kits (Jp/NTSC/PAL)
