A friend of mine was saying that game collectors have difficulty finding a date or a wife. So I was wondering how many of you are married or dating. If so, does he / she share the interest?
Same here. My wife hates video games too but she knows that's what I like so she just accepts it. I have caught her playing Puyo Puyo though on the sly early in the morning when I was in the shower as the picture below shows. (Face edited it the traditional style of a Japanese magazine) Yakumo
Dating yes, but not YET married. The girlfriend is surprisingly a fairly big gaming freak, giving me a run for my money on games like FZero X and Soul Calibur 2, and I still haven't forgiven her for beating Metroid Fusion an hour faster than I did. :smt022 She's currently working her way through disc 2 of Final Fantasy VII right now. Not only is she the best (and hopefully the last) person I have dated, but it's much better to have a gal tolerate or even enjoy games then the previous, "You really spend too much time on games and it's not healthy and you love your games more than me and blah blah blah..." :snipe:
Not married although in Holland this is an option for gay people, were just living together now. He's not really a gamer although i have managed to get him to play exite bike on my NES :smt040
Young (ish- 24) Free and single. The last gf didnt mind the games just give her Alted Beast or Bubble Bobble or Rainbow Islands and she was happy.
. she doesn't mind occasional session of Pop'N'Music or Puzzle Bubble... saying she puts up with my ever increasing collection and with baby in house she's been hinting that I need to get rid of many of them to make room for our baby girl... not that I would mind though... "honey all these consoles are for our daughter. really... honest..." cheers
DJ898: you could really try to comvince her that someday it would be your daughters consoles on that condision that your daughter when she is old enough she took care of them(the consoles) SilverBolt: it is cool you have the option that gay people can get married because Little Denmark were the first place where gay men and women could get married (if i remember right) and if any woman who wanders by this forum/message board i am young (22) and living in Denmark :smt019 :smt033 and single 144 kilo´s and long blond hair ;-)
Im engaged to be... uh... engaged, and with a baby on the way. She likes games so much we have "his n her's" GameCubes.
My girl loves playing games too. She even hates Sony, that's my girl heheh We are not married *yet* (but we are almost 8 years together). PD
Well, my collection is nowhere near as large as some of the one's I've seen posted, but I have no problems when it comes to dating women. Gaming is becoming more and more accepted by all, so the collection is not a problem.
Silverbolt: I guess you're Assembler's only gay member? The only gay man that I knew that had any remote interest in games/computers was an old friend from university, who was my roommate my first year or so here in Tokyo. He discovered Diablo and wouldnt' get off my computer for days. He always fancied himself as "tech-savy" b/c he had a computer back in the day when they were loaded from tape. His credibility went out the door when he tried to install Japanese Dos on top of my WinNT 4.0 computer ages ago. All my other friends of the alternative lifestyle are computer/game-illiterate, but I guess that's not so weird... all my straight friends are as well. :smt023
I have a gay/bi friend who's a veteran (import) gamer/anime/Mac enthusiast... his current b/f is another import game fan
I guess i am the only gay member on this board but who cares :smt023 . Although i must admit that i haven't seen many gay gamers arround though, most of em have no interrest in games at all like my boyfriend :smt009
Same here No smoking.....occasional beer.....no bit on the side :smt022 I don`t complain (much) about her shoe & handbag collections :smt043 Also my son is a game-nut.......he managed to complete Super Mario Sunshine (jap) in 1month when aged 4 and a bit So two guys against two girls makes it nice and even :smt023
I don't see why a gamer would find it difficult to get a date. The only real reason that comes to mind would be lack of time from playing so many video games :smt043 My girlfriend of 2+ years has to go back to Japan as she is unable to renew her visa (f'ing Canada). I may just end up marrying her :smt023
I don't have a Girlfriend at the moment....but my previous one was real insane when it came to my gaming. Apparently I gamed to much and needed to stop. The reason she came to that was that I spent my birthday playing Gamecube all day (Main reason for this being that the Gamecube was released ON my birthday in Europe and I had been waiting to play it for ages). But when it came to her gaming it was COMPLETELY different. Almost everytime I was round at her house she was playing Age of Empires and moaned that I was interupting her game-time. Sufficed to say she got the boot ^_^ ==EDIT== I forgot to mention, she also made fun of my collection saying that old games are all rubbish ^_^ There were only 2 good games in her eyes - Age of Empires (which I hate) and The Sims (which I also hate). She also had something Against my Dreamcast.....she dropped it down the stairs....twice.
Ha... funny stories. You know what, none of my girlfriends have ever shared my hobbies (except for clubing/DJing) but none of them really freaked out too much. My wife doesn't like the violent side of games. She'd rather me play Sonic the Hedgehog. She flipped out when she saw Halo.... imagine if I had GTA or something. Hehe.
