hey i was wondering how much a ,xbox 360 test kit, dev kit , xna, something like that, even if i have to get rrod fixed on it, i sorta just want it as a collectors item and as i said in another forum post i might just "convert" my xbox 360 to that
XNA kits are usually over $1000. If you can wait a few months until the new generation comes out prices may drop significantly. That's my hope at least.
yea i hope too, or they will become harder to find..im still think i might convert this jasper to a dev and make a fake side car with a xkey360 and a big hard drive
prices on xbox360 dev hw will stay up, especially xna prices. The reason why I think it will be so bc xb one hw is just looking boring and phat dev/test kits with sidecar looking sweet and xna is just sexy with all decals and faceplate/matching sidecar.
People used to say the same about PS1 green/blue debugs and PS2 Tests and Tools. Not to mention NR Readers, etc. Once the hardware generation rotates out of cycle, the secondhand market for debug gear always takes a dive. That downward pricing trend is expected. There's already someone in the WTB section asking for a PS3 slim test unit for less than the price of a retail unit. You're likely to see more people like that as the generation shift rolls on.
I agree with the others, the prices of all unit have already gone down substantially in 5 years. In 2008 or so, it was expected to pay at least $800 for any kind of XDK. When the first XNA kits popped up on the market they were selling for over $2500. Now you can get a xenon XDK for $200 and an XNA kit for $1000. BTW- You can not and will not be able to convert your retail to a full XDK. Ever. I'm guessing you are just talking about R-Jtaging it then installing RGloader, but that will never have half the capabilities of a real XDK. Also, a sidecar isn't just for storage, it is for use with debugging with PIX or using DVD emulation. There are quite a number of things sidecars are used for.
yeaaa i know, but i like the look of the xna consoles so i was going to paint mine to look like it and run tx fusion on it, then ill just get rid of my slim rgh with the verying from awsome to horrid boot times. what i was going to put in the fake sidecar iwas going to put in a 1tb hard drive for data and an xkey360 so that i can get it to have SOME sidecar features
I don't see any sidecar features in that at all. I don't recommend Fusion, RGloader is way better, and more updated in my opinion. There really isn't a point to having an XKey on an RGH as you can use XeXmenu and what not to launch games from the hard drive, no need for optical emulation. The sidecar can do drive emulation from your computer's hard drive through USB, the XKey emulates a drive directly from a memory unit.
I asked in the thread on TX, admins said that there wasn't enough interest from users or developers for them to continue with Fusion. I'm sure if they found a way to sell it there'd be interest from the developers
There is no point when RGloader is out there. RGloader would continue to be free and it is updated more, and has more features.
