How NOT to do mods for customers...

So I've been following this retro console repair and modding guy on YouTube and just now saw one of his recent uploads. Now I'm not going to say anything personally about it or the guy behind the work. Just going to say the guy is known as Drakon. he's one of the one's to mess with the NES RGB and stereo mods using a kit from Japan and the classic PC10 PPU. Just watch the video for the full details on a front loader NES this guy got that was worked over by Drakon.

 

The kit is not from China, Its from Japan.

At this point the whole Drakon flaming thing is just beating a dead horse, I do not think we need another of these threads.

 

Sorry if this is old. I never knew of this at all since I try to not have mods done by an outside source to prevent this sort of thing. I've only had 2 things done by someone else and I'm still waiting on the second part to come back as of this date.

How is it then that anytime I come across something Drakon has done even recently there is nothing but praise? Epic fandom following over on his forum???

 

Yes epic fan boys. You will see I mention this type of thing in his threads, but people don't understand how terrible the work is.

Also, you have not only had 1 thing done externally as I did some work for you and you got it back ages ago.

 

How could I forget that? Guess because I broke my N64 and have never really used my ED64 again since then. Happened around a week after I got the cart back. I walk by it at least 5 times a day and just ignore it now...

 

Im not trying to flame the dude, but that is just ridiculous on how much hot glue he uses. I could understand using a little bit to mount the boards and such but to cover whole components with it?. Sounds like to me he's not confident with his work

 

I'll lock this thread just in case it turns in to another flame war but I'll keep it here so others can be warned about the workmanship.
