How rare is a Lunar I for the SEGA-CD (US)? I have a friend is willing to sell his copy of Lunar (SEGA-CD) for $35 (US) + 7.00 (US). Everything is there and great shape except for the game cd. It has a big scratch on the disk (haven't seen it). He says that doesn't think the scratch is in any DATA area. I guess I'm not too picky if it plays or not. I have Lunar I for my PSX. Always is this a good buy? Or will I be able to find another one in better shape if this isn't rare.
I would say its uncommon maybe a little on the rare side, but thats mostly cause its a RPG and collectors hold onto them for a long time. I wouldnt pay that with a damaged disc to be honest. Tell him 15 or 20 and if he says no tell him good luck with Ebay. Collectors want that stuff complete and mint or very close. It dosent sound like a good investment to me even if you already have it for PSX.
I'd say it depends on how bad the scratch is and if you can repair it. Also, if the scratch is beyond all data, that's good, but if its located where CD Audio tracks are, that's very bad as there is no audio correction on CD Audio.
Uh, which art on the disk? There's a very common variant with disk art that doesn't extend over the whole center spindle area, and then several less common ones. The Working Designs archive page never went up, but I'm sure there's a fansite with all the disks listed and/or illustrated.
