Is Rhapsody, now? I went to a vintage gaming store named "Vintage Stock", which sells japanese games, old games, somewhat obscure rare systems and all sorts of stuff, and I asked them if they had a copy of Rhapsody. They LOL'd and said they hadnt had it in months and suddenly got rare and is now $300 on Ebay. -_- Does anyone know how rare it is, or where to get a cheap copy? Thanks EDIT: The thread title should be more descriptive than 'How rare...' so I changed it. LeGIt
I've never actually regarded "Rhapsody" as rare. It was one of the more common bootlegs when it was out, down here (that's the way I measure stuff down here) - but it disappeared from the radar shortly afterward. I did see many copies the other day in the Black Market. I've seen the actual original go up to 75 dollars, but that's not even close to 300. Hell, there's some copies on Ebay right now, going up for somewhere between 5 to 40 dollars. It is not common, that's for sure. I think Valkyrie Profile is more rare, though.
Ok, the store im talking about sure sells a lot of stuff, but they sell crap they know is uncommon, rare, etc. for insane bullshit prices. They recently marked all their GTA: San Andreas games for $100 cause it was recently pulled off the shelves. BTW, this place is like a pawn shop of sorts, and they can be assholes on the expensive shit.
Indeed. I think selling GTA: SA for 25 dollars is 25 dollars too expensive - 100 is just plain being assholes and preying on people. I'd kill for a store here that sold old PSX games in good condition - but it'd be likely for it to kill as well, with prices like these. So, in other words, if you want Rhapsody, get it from Ebay. Oh, I also checked mexican auction sites and nobody has it.
It's a queer RPG for the PSX, and when I say queer, I mean very queer. Personally, I don't know why anyone would pay more than $10 for that game.
you know what queer means, right? just joking. that game must be really really strange... //edit: i had a look at some screenshots...well, let the image speak for itself... btw, the game's subtitle is "A Musical Adventure" ... here are some more screens: http://www.rpgamer.com/games/other/psx/rhapsody/rhapss.html
Uhh, yeah queer means strange or weird, and that is exactly what that game is. I mean come on, you attack your enemies with food.
I have a dream to get most every ATLUS game ever made. It and WD are some of my favorite gaming companies. EDIT: Checked Rhapsody on Ebay. All I can say is everyone at Vintage Stock can kiss my ass. :die
Yeah that vintage stock store sounds like a bunch of idiots have they actually sold gta sa to anyone yet its such a waste you can get it new online for $60 topps! including shipping. Do they have anything in their that is marked at a reasonable price?
It's semi off-topic, but GTA:SA was being discussed here. You can easily find it for the $50 MSRP if you know where to look. Not all stores pulled it, and a few stores simply have put it behind the counter for request-only because it's AO. Try checking out Game Crazy (usually in a combo-store with Hollywood Video)
That queerness, my dear friend, is precisely the reason to get it. In my way of seeing things, it's what adds to the fun. That and the seriously bad musical numbers, and all the pink and cute and sweet things in a tactical battle RPG. I, for one, like that a lot. :-D
Current gen games are usually cheap, and old crappy psx titles, too. But if even some guy on a forum says a game is rare, they will slap a hefty price on it. They have some Japanese titles with DragonBallz characters on it (Dont know the game) for like $14.99... I saw some Lynxs or whatever they are named there, too.
Ah yes, another game that escapes my collection. It is a bit hokey, but the story and action are great. I will agree this game isn't very common, but I wouldn't call it 'rare'. That stores reminds me of a place in NYC called J&L Game Trading. They have tons of great stuff, but their prices are outrageous. They mark everything up, and most of the people there are assholes, so I don't frequent it anymore. ^_^_^
I think i would buy it then, if it so queer as you say .Since it be a great gay game to play Since fun RPG´s are the rockers in my mind
Rhaopsody was the first game developed by Nippon Ichi, makers of the now-famous Disgaea, LaPucelle Tactics, Phantom Brave, and Makai Kingdom. It was apparently a very VERY odd game with lots of - wait for it - singing. The game even comes with a soundtrack CD with all the squeaky-voiced goodness of the game itself. If you're looking to pick one up, Mr. Casual, the Gamestop I work part-time at has a copy that's been sitting on the back shelf for months - I believe the price is $24.99.
Sorry, Im not gonna drive to Oregon just for that game... I dont really even have a way to get someone to get it for me over the internet. I would have to mail cash or something.
There's this new invention called mail. It's really neat, because you can send stuff to anybody, anywhere in the world. You might want to try it out some time. :-D
