(I was polluting http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?49800-PC-CD-ROM-firmware-to-read-GD-ROMs with offtopic thing, so I'm making a new thread.) Thanks. I might do that, but that version I understand more or less how to build, and I have a half finished version of something similar on my workbench. Just a matter of attaching the whole pickup assembly to the tray. The guy in the video keeps the pickup static and just loads it with a normal PC tray. What I think he might have done is remove the normal center attachment cylinder and replaced it with a magnetic one similar to the one in PS2. If I can find a scrap PC drive with magnetic center lock I'll try that next. (Edited for slightly less awkward sentence structure.)
