How to check minimum firmware version on PlayStation 3 tool DECR 1000a

The RSX rom version is B07 Manufacture date is January 2009. Any safe way to tell if the minimum is 1.60 or 2.30?

 

What does it say in vsh in the update menu? It should display a minimum version. If it's "1.00" that probably means you can really go as low as 1.60, if it's 2.30 you know your answer.

 

It says 1.00, I just don’t want to blow up a $1400 kit to find out. They didn’t enforce the 1.60 limit after all

 

If it's rsx rom b07, downgrading below 1.60 (except on 100.004, which is a version of 1.00 crafted for rsx rom b07 machines), you will brick.

 

I’m was aware of the brick issue of B07 but was not aware of the 100.004 thing, was that leaked?

That's the fully rebuilt (dumped from a stock b07 unit) ebootrom (it's been successfully tested on b07 hardware)

 

Yay 1.00 amazing how little clutter is in the xmb

 

Don't update to any firmware below 1.60 though or you will brick, even from that special 1.00 firmware
