How to edit a xex file , then get it to work on a devkit ?

Ok , a rgh will play it but the devkit will not. Can i use xextools ? .
I got bored and was looking at the hard corp uprising dev game noone could get working. I found something in the xex missing that retail has. Now instead of booting to the dash it acts as a devkit game that my console will not play.

 

IDK just flag it to dev? And yes xextools can do it.

 

Devkits cannot run the .xex uncompressed, but modified consoles can. (the only exception is if you have shadowboot on your devkit) Repackage it as devsigned with xextool or X360GameHack with it's compression / encryption back to normal.

 

I never bothered re compressing any xex and never had any problems? I also didn't go out of my way to decompress anything either so IDK :/

 

You can run a retail xex file on a devkit by using a program like xextools to sign is as devkit. I have done it multiple times.

 

Why are you guys calling xextool xextools? but anyway i always uncompress and make devkit. But taking one build of a game's files and trying to use another builds xex most likley wont work.
