Hey, I am trying to edit a few files in some PS1 ISOs (basic things like sounds and some images) but am not having much luck. I found a program called PSone ISO Maker Pro which I used at first but it doesn't seem to be working. At first I though that it was because my edited files were not passing some sort of check the game might have but that is not the case. I confirmed this by unpacking the iso, not editing a single file, and repacking it using the program. Black screen in both PSXR and ePSXe. Something is happening where the PS1s special ISO setup is not remaining intact so the game won't boot. I tried repacking the game before with a standard ISO utility and PCSXR actually said something about it not looking like a valid ISO, so the program I found got part of it right but not all of it. So basically does anyone have experience with replacing files on a PS1 CD and then repacking it and being able to play? Thanks.
Use CDMage for replacing the files or cd-tool for making a brand new ISO, provided that the file allocation table is used by the game for retrieving data offsets (highly unlikely). Forget about all programs out there that can't respect the standard in any decent manner (UltraISO, for example) or others that have no idea of what XA sectors are (like PSone ISO Maker last time I checked).
