just wondering. like most of you know, i'm new to dreamcast collecting, and i think i just found an amazing treasure of sealed dreamcast games for 10 bucks each. :smt045 ...and anyone know the value of shenmue and grandia 2 sealed ? :-D
some dickheads have been shrinking their used games - I think a real sealed dc game has a whiteish pull strip near the bottom.
well, the shop don't buy any games from consumers, they just sell. they enlarged their shop and replaced their old stocks on the new shelves. :smt033 i think there was a big line in the middle on the rear of the box. anyone could post a photo or something?
Nah, every games at the shop are NTSC-US, the sealling is certainly different. And for Grandia 2, it's 10 canadian bucks! :-D just hope it's really sealed, it seems to.... but i can't be sure if i don't know how a ntsc-us game is sealed.
If it's online: Look closely and see if there is any scratches. Also, there is usually the seal point (Which is a clump of plastic instead of folded) If it's in real life: Feel it and see if it is thin. Also, look for the folding on the top (Re-sealed games have the clump of plastic, while official sealed games have the folded plastic on the top and bottom)
Sealed games have a cellophane-ish feel to them. Also, they always have folded corners, at least for the single jewel case (regular size) ones. The folded corners are located along the spine of the game--can't remember if there is other places where they are too.
well, if there's more than one copy of grandia 2 i will. :-D (the first is for me as you understood) i'll have to search more next time i'll go there, their old stocks are melted with old dvds, music cds and other games form other consoles in large boxes. they sadly don't have plenty of it (from what i found so far), and only found one copy of grandia 2 (for now). i just hope no one will find the treasures and take them before i do. :-(
Even if it wasn't sealed wouldn't grandia 2 be well worth what they were asking for it? I think you should have grabbed it anyway Hope it's still there, along with a few more!
Grandia 2 is not only very valuable - It's a little jewel of a game - if somewhat easy. It's magnificent on the DC, also. I have the PS2, PC and DC versions, and the DC version is by far superior to any other, especially to the piss-poor PS2 port.
well, i already own grandia 2 so if the game isn't sealed, it wouldn't be useful to me (well, a sealed game sin't more usefull, but it builts a collection :-D (it's with little things that big things existed)), good price or not. you and me both. anyone have a pic. of a sealed ntsc-us game? you already helped me alot with the descriptions and i can now have an idea of a sealed dc game, but i'm more visual than audtitive (or should i say...readitive? :smt043 ) and i want to be 100% sure . :-D the was a big horizontal line on the back of the game, is this suposed to be here?
With the large case DC games (i.e. Shenmue, Grandia 2), it's hard to tell. Even a factory seal on these looks like a cheap reshrinkwrap job. Every copy of Shenmue sealed I've come across has looked like this.
Ok after a painfull search through every page on ebay :angry I found a good example for you :smt042 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=62053&item=8161974540&rd=1 You can see the tight overlap on the front of the disc, and this represents a USA factory seal. :smt023 Its to the left of the headphones.
That is NOT what a factory seal looks like at all. A note to Cahaz: since you're in Canada, most of the games will have been reshrinkwrapped with French manuals inside of them. This is done by Sega, by the seal doesn't look like a "collector's" factory seal.
