Enough said, discuss! http://www.vertical-visions.com/_temp/postagepaid/index2.html And the best thing is that there's nothing illegal in it!
My Grandma needs to see this site. She gets 600 of these a day. *She actually sent money to one of them once and they sold her adress to others, I believe*
Wow, haven't seen anyone try that trick for a while. Just a warning: it is NOT legal to do this. As much as it is fitting, it can be considered mail fraud and cost you a whole hell of a lot more than just the shipping costs. Of course, the Postal Service has no problems accepting a package like this, but the business affected by it can file a fraud/abuse complaint against you with their local Postmaster. Plus, the company can file a lawsuit against you for damages and breach of contract. Every single one of those prepaid/guaranteed postage envelopes comes with some kind of letter indicating that the envelope is for an acceptance response for whatever the scam du jour happens to be.
Even though, its not legal, then I would do it. And sue them afterwards, if I ever got an afternotice from them.
Well if you could somehow find a way to digitize a 50lb sledge hammer so we could throw it at them, I'm sure that would be much more efficient than digitizing a tire and mailing it to them. Throwing the hammer at least gives it that personal touch.
Wasn't there a global DDOS effort against email spammers orchestrated by someone a couple of years back? That would be the equivalent. You know, tracking down where it all originates from, and using their zombie connections in some sort of massive retaliation. I heard about it but I guess it was impossible, as it never materialised. Also, wasn't Infoseek or Excite sued over a screen saver that sort of used a similar technique to attack spammers?
I get about 20+ Japanese SPAM mails for porn sites or other odd shite such as joining a group or something. God only knows why since I've never visited any Japanese porn sites or western ones come to think of it. They are dumb though. I mean all the spam mail has the same layout plus I'm getting spam mail from my own mail address ! The best one this week started by saying "I received your mail but forgot your name. I'm that 23 year old woman you know" you'd have to be a right idot to follow the link. Yakumo
Unfortunatley we'll never defeat spam. Until there is a way to press a few buttons and make the spammer's computer explode it'll never happen. We could do things like outlaw remailers and keep people from getting multiple throw away email addresses, but those things are merely tools that are being abused.
