I just got a Zephyr Test kit with a 120GB sidecar yesterday and I was wondering how I can patch it with a KV from a Dev Kit. I have a Xenon Stress XDK that I can take the KV off of but I've never flashed a test kit to a dev kit before so I don't want to screw it up. Anyone have any experience doing this?

there WAS an app that did it automatically but i lost it about a year ago all it did was change "XNA TEST" to "XNA Development Kit"

it has to do with the xbdm.ini.... does anyone have this still?

From the original post it said you were trying to flash a KV from a xenon Dev to your Zephyr. Xenons by default will have type 1 KVs and Zephyrs will have type 2. If you flashed a type 1 to a Zephyr then you would brick it until reverting it back. As far as I know, patching from a Test to a Dev doesn't involve a KV (Please correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not sure) Anyways, if you do change a dev kit's KV from stock, as seen in this thread (http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?45275-21250-controller-problem) without patching the KV, you will have some controller issues.

Devkits aren't like retails. I have a type 1 kv on my Zephyr kit. Also I had to flash another kv to my kit to fix my controller issue due to my original kv being messed up.

If it only changes the name on top.. what benefit does one get from doing this?

I figured it's better to bump than to make a new topic on the same thing. I'm also trying to get a Zephyr Test Kit to run a dev kernel so that I can poke memory.
I heard there's a .xex that runs the full dev kernel somehow? I've tried KV patching, but that hasn't worked for me. If anybody could help me out I'd *really* appreciate it.

Bunny, did you ever manage to succeed in this?
