I'm playing with Ryu and it's the only move I can't perform.I press Down-Right, Down-Right and punch but nothing happens. My bar is full btw. Trying to learn play Street Fighter the way it's meant to be, so any help is appreciated.

What? You said press, meaning you're playing on a controller, as in Dreamcast controller. If you're playing on a joystick, you'll have to practice not hitting the corners so much, pretend you're moving in a circle.
That's because the input is down-down/forward-forward, down-down/forward-forward + punch. You must enter the inputs correctly, be precise and do it slower than you imagine you need to, you'll get it eventually.
think less of pressing down then right, and more of smoothly rolling from down to right. They call it a quarter circle motion in most faqs for a reason
Thanks! After 15min of practice I also realized that pressing down and right in a circular motion + punch makes it happen! Wow, i'm really starting to like fighting games. The learning process is so fun!
If your getting into fighting games than give Killer Instinct 1 or 2 a try sometime. Your best bet is to emulate them via MAME, as the console ports are vastly inferior to the arcade version. Those are, IMO of course, the best fighting games of all time.
You're wrong, but they're still fun. OP - I'd recommend spending some time playing Street Fighter Zero/Alpha 3 to death before getting too deep into SFIII, and if you really want to nail the harder moves every time, get a joystick; the DC pad is awful for fighting games.
