You could try using some magic eraser, beware though as it's like a very fine grit sandpaper.

Yeah, be really careful with that stuff. It will take logos and paint clean off. If you decide to use Magic Eraser, take the reset button out so the system isn't hit with the magic eraser.

Forgot to mention that important part. Thanks MonkeyBoyJoey! Also, another reason to take off the button is because magic eraser is used with water and while using it water will come out of it. You don't want that stuff in your system.

Water and Gennys (Mega Drives) do not mix well. I've never had to deal with this personally but I've heard stories. I've seen a guy clean NES top loader boards using water before. He let it dry for a long time afterwards.

That is what i tried, magic eraser with water (i previously removed the button OFC) But after 5-10 mins the paint was still there.
I was more thinking of a liquid that could dissolve the paint without damaging the plastic.
Also tried with steel wool, it took ages and you can see the result on the picture..
It barely removed any paint, and I m afraid to continue cause it could leave a sanded & brightened plastic. The holes on the button are also a problem, since they cannot be sanded anyway.

If all else fails, you could always just paint it to the original color.

Yes, if its not possible to dissolve the painting... Painting it again. Or maybe 3D printing a new blue reset button
