I bought one of those cheapo XenoGC chips from here, and after a while of it working, it suddenly decides to stop. I have adjusted the POT plenty of times, and it still won't work, as the drive stops reading the backup disc. It reads my regular games just fine, but the burned ones, nope. I'm using some Canon mini-DVDs, btw. I have adjusted the POT in the past and that at least got it working. What are my options? Should I get a new laser, keep moving that pot at higher than 10 degree angles? Or get a new chip?

You broke the laser. Buy a new one.
If the XenoGC's LED is green it is working fine.
