How would i repair this?

    My Slim PS1 spindle shattered. I need a new one, but have no idea about how to go about doing it. Any help?

    Key is to pull it off the motor without pulling ON the motor.

    Secure motor. Clamp shaft below spindle. Remove, press fit new one with an incredibly thin film of lock-tite and don't get that crap in the motor!!!

    agreed although may be worth fixing if you can sell it on even just to get your money back or put towards something else,

    Goodwill or Salvation Army, look at pile of used CD players and flip top DVD players, look for one with the right spindle style. Other spindle uses magnet ring to secure disc and it's not used in game console since Sega CD and TurboCD.

    +1 on the discman cannibalizing

    order a few of the spindles because not only are they a PITA to replace but i always end up receiving at least one warped spindle.
