Lucky sod scored one of the best finds in gaming history, considering what he put in for it all! Honestly, I'm sure he's unleashed the wrath of asshats who whine about not being able to afford normally expensive stuff like this. They'd probably burn his house down if they ever find him.

    Comments and whatnot. Discuss!

Well I think we'd want some more proof but, lucky sod is about right.

And Joehax, heaps of betas just tend to get thrown out or destroyed because this particular scene isn't too obvious.

Can only be a good thing, I am picking up PSP proto copies of new games for about 1/3 of the retail copies.

That is the rare nes first run cat it was to come in the box but shortly after nintendo switched for robbie the robot due to cat import laws and holes in the boxes for shipping. Plus sony said they invented cats with the whole KMR (kitty media Rights) it was a whole legal battle that nintendo didn't feel like fighting. Good thing too just think how far that would of set us back digital kitty media if they went full steam with digital kitty web and ultra 64.

I've helped a little bit the seller understanding what he found toghether with Red Eye, then I've introduced him to the DP forum.

Earthbound was sold for 2,200 usd in few hours.
Zelda 3 (we don't know if it's different than the released one) sold for 1,200.
Campus Challenge sold privately for much more.

Heard about this a few days back. Incredible find.

Nicola, since you've been in contact with the guy, did he give any details about what was on the carts?

Well, everything has been described on the dp forum. The two "big" items are Earthbound and the Campus Challenge that everyone was looking for.
You can check all the pics on his pages: http://pixpipeline.com/users/jollerancher
Zelda 3 is just a link to the past, unknown differences.
The others are NES protos (released) and a few snes employee library titles, already ebayed.

I find it quite akward that this stuff got out so eaisly, cause nintendo is exteremely strict about keeping things secret as well as stuff staying at their hq,

such as their whole sign games in and out. In fact thats the reason no beta stuff ever really gets leaked out, cause i hear they usually trace employees who

have this stuff imeidiatly. Still i hope one of these days the 50% build of mario 64 will be released to the public, the layout was much different from pics

and couple of beta videos ive seen. But im guessing they dont really go after earthboudn protos considering NOA lack of enthusiams for the serise.
