You are correct, I mean to say id tech 4. Q3A used id tech 3 and was available on the Dreamcast so it is clearly possible.

I'd have to find the exact quote but Jez San was quoted as saying his teams had experimental engines running on the Dreamcast that went beyond where people had so far got in terms of pushing polygons, i forget the exact figure but think it might of been claimed as 5 million+, but then..he did'nt specify what, if any light sourcing or texture-mapping was also in use.

After Red Dog was pulled, touched up, re-released for review again, mauled to death 2nd time around, he went off on 1 on Sega and the Dc, not promoting his game..Wahhh etc..so nut sure he'd look back on the DC with favour.

Doom 3 and Far Cry i seem to remember, along with HL2 were classed as beyond PS2 hardware, in terms of deliver a version of high enough quality, so whilst you could, i'm sure downgrade PS2 titles to DC, wether you'd want to play them is something else.

I had likes of Max Payne on PS2 and it was'nt good, ditto Just Cause, so ended up getting them on Xbox instead.

I don't believe the DC was Maxed-Out, but i'd of liked to have seen more flagship, original titles than conversions from PC/PS2 that just simply did'nt work, myself.
