I've come across a Hyundai Super Comboy and have arranged to pick it up from a guy tomorrow, but was wondering if the price I'd been quoted seemed reasonable. He's asking for 75,000 won, which is pretty much $70 and it comes with a Hyundai pad and the original Hyundai charger. I wouldn't be buying with the intention of selling it on anytime soon, but wanted to know if I could try and push the price down a bit. Obviously it's a bit hard to figure out what a decent price would be, as it's more of a novelty item than anything else.

Also, the same guy has a Comboy, which I think he wants to sell as part of a bundle for 115,000 won and a Samsung Mega Drive, which is pretty battered, but is only 40,000 won.

The last one I saw for sell went for 70usd and was just the console only.

The rarity is worth it, these sure don't appear too often. For other uses no. Offers virtually nothing unique in features.

I'm in Seoul at the moment and have managed to find two of them. The other one was 70'000 won, but was in a pretty grubby state. Wish I could find a boxed one somewhere, but there isn't really a retro market in Korea and even finding any that aren't completely discoloured by smoke is pretty hard.

What do you reckon about games? I've found some pretty good condition complete copies of Yoshi's Isand and Super Mario World, but they're 25'000 and 30'000 won respectively.

Ask yourself if you have a specific need for Korean versions. Some were left untranslated and play in English same as any common US one anyway (being NTSC). Yet chances are they'll be even *tougher* to find anywhere else. Between those games Yoshi seems more appealing IMO.

I was only in Seoul for a couple of days, so decided to bite the bullet and buy it. However, I was unaware of any Korean auction sites - do you know if there are any proxy bidding sites like there are for taobao and yahoo auctions? Bare in mind that I can fit the one I did buy in my suitcase, whereas postage would add up.

Also picked up a Samsung Mega Drive for 30,000 won, which doesn't seem bad compared to those auction prices.

I paid the same for my MD2 when I was there.

Finding consoles in Korea in good condition is really really hard.
