Depeche Mode and hate in the same sentence!?!? You speak of heresy!! :lol: Their latest album pretty is sub par to what they used to make. But hey, they were pop-techno in the beginning and now they are considered a rock alternative band, which I find odd. I always thought they were techno. Anyway, what they did was just trying to reach out to a wider audience to sell more records. They have mouths to feed.
Hmmm they are all multi millionaires , so I don´t think they really have mouths to feed. Heck even 3 who has a video phone service in Denmark have used A Pain I Am Used To in the new commercial, well I am a Depeche Mode fan, but damn, even though I liked the live versions of the PTA songs(yeah I have just been to a concert with them, last Saturday), I just feel they are reaching the bottom. And I am very disapointed, heck all those great synth pop bands there are around the world, has made better albums this year (or last year) are better than that Playing The Angel. Heck I really do love APB´s new style in the new album he has just made. I am a Depeche Mode fan, but I am a synthmaniac too, and I think DM is loosing the respect in their music, well the first time I heard PTA, I was very close to puking.
Man, I was such a DM freak in my younger years. Violator was my first concert, and I went and saw both shows they played in my town. Had loads of bootlegs, and they were stolen when some asshole robbed my house. Probably sold for $3 each.
GaijinPunch: I could try making some copies of my bootlegs to you if you wanted some good bootlegs with them. And well there are places, both in P2P land, and shops (many of them are small shops, who sells bootlegs with them). and also Ebay and other auction sites sometimes sells DM.
I didn't like Playing the Angel, either. "Precious" was a good song, but the rest of the album I didn't really care for. I can't comment on how they've supposedly gotten worse over the years, though, since I only own Violator and the Singles (earlier one) disc.
Wolverine: Yeah, I've downloaded a lot of stuff since then. Part of what was stolen was the X1 & X2 boxes... that hurt. I bought them for about $200. Even living in Japan for 7 years, was never able to find them for near that price again. I did, however, leave with a Japanese 101, but the spine is in shit condition. Has the nice calendar though. Violator also got a nice JPN release (w/ Enjoy the Silence Maxi Single) but it's pretty hard to find.
