i am Error is a post i have over at nintendoage.com segaage.com and playstationcollecting.com/ i've decided to at least showcase my error spotlights sense i cannot bring the list over, and the first one is which i just recently purchased. thanks to li-lu-le-lo link to one of the lists http://playstationcollecting.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=68&threadid=73350 Error Spotlight: Blast Chamber Blast Chamber Released September 30, 1996 which is a puzzle game which you must place a crystal inside a reactor before the time runs out while inside a cube chamber. Avoiding hazards and other obsticals through 40 different and progressively harder levels. As we all know on this thread theres got to be something wrong with it. Well at least one copy there is its whats known as a data error. If i have not explained what a data error is, its a game which was manufactured and sold as one game, but actually contains another. now this can happen to cartridge games but its much harder to prove which is why you don't see many carts listed. imagine wanting to get into some intense cubic puzzle action and when you turn it on you see this pop up on the screen dun duh duh..... la-li-lu-le-lo purchased it from a retro game store.he thought the developers were playing a joke on him, when he finally fired the game a while after he bought it. until he looked up Street Racer which was released for ps1 on October 31, 1996. so it looks like the master disc was switched durring the producing of the game but the print set was not and so some Blast Chambers got burned with the Street Racer Data.la-li-lu-le-lo doesn't remember the exact purchase price of the game, but he remembers buying it cheap, as i recall Blast chamber is not a high priced game. as for Street Racer the playstation version it was one of many forgettable kart Racing games to come out it had many ports on many systems and has been largely viewed by the critics as being a mediocre Mario Kart clone. while neither game is particularly valuable in its own right it got this particular copy and got onto my list and into my collection at a cost of $36. tips for finding this particular error are the same as with most other data errors i know of look for the PSRM number stamped on the inner ring of the disc if it reads PSRM 001120 then that's the misprint. its still visible through the blue on the disc. (you can see the P and most of the S in he picture above)
most games are manufactured in a small numbers of factories with in the us they are not manufactured by the publisher that's how an ubisoft game can end up on a Activision disc

Those have got to be the worst. Oh man, getting one of those games and popping it in and Elmo's number journey shows up. That's cold. ...what?
the final fantasy 7 is even worse it happens with disc 3 and i am trying to hunt down atleast all the ps1 errors as for madden the only reason its unconfirmed is no other copy ever showed up http://www.gamespot.com/articles/madden-game-reveals-porn-surprise/1100-6163689/
How does that even happen? Xbox DVDs are pressed differently from movie DVDs (what with that fancy Xbox logo in the middle and all). I think he just made that up.
this is the underside of my Power Drome misprint which actually plays good times season 5 disc 1 notice no playstation 2 holograms most likely one or a couple blanks somehow got mixed in with the power drome being made in the same factory. this is the only misprint i own which maybe a one of a kind. i have not heard of another. so its posible that the madden porn exists
I can also confirm the X-Wing vs Tie Fighter issue on PC. My copy is like that with the discs switched.
I don't have anything but the discs anymore, I just remember this when playing it. I last played it well over 10 years ago.
At least that one is not as bad as not even receiving the right game. Like the good times one. That would be rather odd.
that good times cost me $40 dollars, but it may be a one of a kind. i'm kinda upset Europe gets Apocolypto we get good times
Error Spotlight: Final Fantasy 7 redo my very first error spotlight has covered the many flaws of Final Fantasy 7 well i figured its about time to revisit this colossally botched game release. i'll be going over the whole thing from BL release errors to the GH first one up of the game now this is still a very common misprint the i in masterpiece was off set it appears in the middle of the space in between the lines of text how could only the i in masterpiece be shifted up and to the left. i have a theory on it. you will notice that the ratings descriptor changed form REALISTIC VIOLENCE to Comic Mischief Mild Animated Violence Mild Language remember this is only a theory. the word masterpiece was most likely misspelled when it first went to print the person corrected it by adding the i.in most likely an oversight by the person added it on the same layer as the ratings descriptor. which fit in nice with the first print run the one with the realistic violence. someone then noticed that realistic violence wasn't quite accurate so they decided to change the description.for the next print run the added lines of text and longer description probably shoved the i up and back, resulting in one of the more common misprints of this game. Remeber this is still a very common misprint. the next misprints are harder to date because its not known which of the printings it came from we will take a look at a disc misprint now the images on the three discs behind the disc numbers are supposed to be 1 cloud riding a chocobo 2 the highwind 3 meteoroid not with some copies of the discs i've only seen the disc not sure which print this came with. some of the copies came with a meteoroid on disc 2 the disc plays the correct disc. now for the manual error for this one and the last of the known black label errors atleast in one black label copy of the game the second page was stapled in up side down resulting in a weird looking order to the pages onto the greatest hits version of final fantasy 7 the GH version has its own slew of problems with its release so i will go over each of the problems with it. and I'll do them in the order i think they arrived in the market. so first off i'm going to start off with the very common double Sephiroth misprint. the left side of the case in the behind disc one should have contained the second half to the picture on the manual it should show Aeris standing by the Highwind. not for what i call the first print run. this print run contains two pictures of Sephiroth. now with this print run there are also errors with the disc printing and the manual assembly some of the copies of the double sephiroth error contain on the first disc an incomplete chocobo the second page of the manual is also missing and the back being ever so slightly miscut. these errors were found on the same double Sephiroth copy. now for what i believe is the next print run is the infamous GH/BL copy this copy of the game has a black label front with a GH label back it is only counted if it is sealed it contains the GH discs. i've run across one opened in a local video game store in Va beach. Some people place this one as the first greatest hits release.the reason why i place this one after the double Sephiroth error is it seems a bit more logical that this was a result of trying to correct the double Sephiroth error. they grabbed the first cover they had with the correct inside not paying attention to the front sent it to print and we have the half and half variant. now for the one which i cannot place in the timeline because its not known as to which it belongs to the video for this error no longer exists. its a data error on disc 3. imagine playing all the way to disc 3 and then when you put the next disc in you get the message that its the incorrect disc. that's what happened to one person who then forgetting he had it in his system turned the game and Spongebob Squarepants Super Sponge comes on the screen knowing he didn't have the game he checked the disc and it was the Final Fantasy 7 disc was still in his system.
I never really considered typos and other misprints showing up on games. I collect sports cards and like to collect error cards. Something about printing errors has always fascinated me for some reason. I remember I once had a paperback novel that was a printing error. On the face it looked fine, but there was only blank pages inside. I don't remember what ever happened to that.
