Sorry I don't know where else to post this so I thought I would do it here since you guys seem to know a whole lot. As many of you know I am a huge bowling videogame fan. I am trying to re-skin PBA Bowling 2 for windows XP. This game was made by Bethesda and all of the data files are in.BSA format. I googled that format and found a utility that was used for later games released by the software company called the bethesdaSoftware extractor but it only works with newer games and not one that is this old. This game came out in 1999 I believe. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot
Thank you for your response. What I'm trying to do is extract the file so I can get to the graphic images so I can re-skin them. As I said it is a BSA file but I do not know how to extract it I have a hex editor I'm not quite sure how that would help me out.
The BSA file has no header. BSA is Bethesda's archive format. The hex editor shows the file names contained within. Morrowind's BSA Unpacker can open the archive but shows no files. Perhaps another program can be used.
Try this program - http://www.uesp.net/w/images/7/78/Bsa_f-ex_1.3.2.zip It should work with the 90's .BSA format. It's meant for The Elder Scrolls Arena, but also works with Terminator Rampage. So it may be compatible with any other Bethesda game using the convention.
