I got angry over some stupid little shit and instead of breaking something or going on a swear trip with a seasonal pass, I made this:

Now when I started, I had no idea what to use it for. Then it hit me. This little gadget will be useful for testing out burned ROM chips for the Sega Genesis/ Megadrive. Most games had a 40 pin ROM chip in them. I had a Sonic 1 cart that was dead and it sacrificed the PCB for this endeavor. The cable is a standard 40 wire IDE/ ATA cable. I left the connector on the one end and soldered the wires onto the PCB in the casing. I plan to eventually add a 40 pin slot to fit the standard EEPROM chips out there. No need to open casing to test new game. Chip open and visible. Of course there is the potential problem of signal fade and interference due to the length of the cable. Think I need to shorten it down to work without it glitching up?

Why does getting angry make you do random mods on cartridges?

Be better than breaking my N64 controller.

    ...AGAIN for the hundredth time...

Gotta get that negative energy out somehow.

I certainly can think of worse ways to vent off that steam.

Next mod when angry "I made this Romdumper software using pure assembler, and here is a picture of the keyboard afterwards" *insert destroyed keyboard here*
:dejection: ... :wink-new: Nice post, keep those mods come, but no more rage ok?

Oh my god, I'm in stitches. After reading the post I was a bit unsure what he was talking about, then I read your comment and suddenly I just started laughing.
I mean, it's a great way to get your frustration out. But I just pictured you grabbing the nearest cart you could find and then shoving some cables up it.
    Anyway, this made my day.

    Dat's funny as hell.
    No more rage from me.
    I hope...

What's not to get? I replaced the 40 pin EPROM chip with 40 wire IDE cable. Now I need to get some EEPROM sockets to put on the connector end of cable.

Glad to be of help. Trust me, I didn't just "shove a cable in a random cart". It be soldered to all 40 ROM chip points inside.
