May god prevent the DVD industry from your wicked ideas :110: Seriously, I could not imagine what could be more ineffective than a DVD boxset in a blister. I mean, these boxes are designed to be lined up in a shelf. Anyway, blister packagings are just a pain in the ass to open and ugly to look at if you ask me, but all that has been stated before. While it may be not the most ecologic to put 5 plastic wrappings on every small item of whatever kind, at least the Japanese don't use blisters. I love that almost everything from Japan is in a small box and next to nothing in a blister unlike in the West.
Instead of going into mental berserker rages and trying to rip apart the plastic, why don't you guys cut around the sealed edges? It is really quite a simple process. I dislike blister packs, but it's something even a responsible child should be able to accomplish with scissors.
:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap: Thank you, thats the same method ive been using for years, and can honestly say i cant remember ever cutting myself on a blister pack..
sometimes you buy something you need immediately, but its in a blister pack. there are situations were you just don't have the proper tools (scissors, swiss army knife, scalpel, saw...) at hand. or do you always carry a pair of scissors with you? of course one could ask the shopkeeper to open it, but i don't want to digress. most (if not all) goods shouldn't be packed in blister packs to begin with!
well I couldn't find a suitable picture to demonstrate it but condom boxes are usually packed in blister packs, which are often needed "immediately" But seriously, I hate these more and more as years go by, the types of plastic used seem to get sturdier by the year. This Xmas I gave PS2's singstar (game+2 microphones pack) as a gift for my girl, which came in a blister pack, and while trying to open it carefully I ended up completly mutilating the box along with my hands. In cases like this I think blister packs suck, specially if you're a collector, because you have to seriously mutilate/deform it in order to get the contents out and end up with the loose contents (ie loose microphones+game) I prefer the japanese equivalent, blister front+mold+sliding carton back.
OK, Imagine this. You're at some kind of event, something you enjoy. I dunno, an air show, a concert, a nudist beach... whatever. You have your compact digital camera with you. You shoot off enough photos to fill up the memory card. Oh no, you need another! You find the photography stall or a local electronics stall, and they sell you this: Now, were you at a concert, a lot of venues have a strict policy about weapons. Some larger venues have shops on-site, but they also check you for weapons. Umm, that's just a box cutter! Only box cutters are often cheaper and have more features. http://www.drillspot.com/products/443099/Gerber_22-00533_Strap_Box_Cutter_Knife
