So I picked up a "Skream" Twin Stick Arcade Stick for PSX, think it was £3.50 alongside some other stuff. Initially I thought it was part of an old arcade cabinet, that was until I saw the Playstation controller cables.
I bit, bought the thing and got it home.
I've popped it open, taken a look inside and tested it. Damage is pretty extensive; only a couple of the buttons work and the 2nd player joystick doesn't register Up commands.
I guess I'm going to have to source some replacement buttons and probably a full set of switches for the 2nd player joystick.

What I'm wondering is if anyone has any information about this. Personally I can't find out anything about it other than it's possibly from Japan and it's for the Playstation.
Also, If anyone knows where I can get these types of buttons I'd appreciate that as well. Obviously I know chances of me finding an exact set are low and I'll probably have to replace everything.

I took some pictures earlier of the faceplate and interior:

Hey, thanks man. I've never heard of Cthulu Chips before but it looks really damn cool. I would like to restore the Arcade Stick as close to it's original form, but I think your idea holds a little more promise.

    Hi,
What kind of damage does the controller have? I've fixed some controllers that had unresponsive buttons by just opening them up & giving the contacts a good clean with isopropyl alcohol - it's amazing how much dirt they get inside them!

There's at least three, possibly four buttons that are just unresponsive. Then there's five that have "sunk" and can't be clicked at all. And yeah, it was pretty damn dirty inside, hehe.

They're just arcade buttons, leaning on the Japanese (e.g. Sanwa). Go to any arcade supplier, like Gremlin.

After taking a look around I found very, very little information on the thing. But based on what little I've found out the buttons are Sanwa. Sadly I can't find exact matches anywhere. I think I'm just going to take Deka's suggestion and do a complete refurbish with Cthulhu Chips and just keep the original parts for use in another project.
    Thanks for your help guys.

Interesting, your stick looks similar to the Blaze Twin Shock. When you do the repair, maybe add twinstick capabillty?

I did the Twinstick Mod with my Blaze, a simple matter of toggle switches and jumping the four face butons over to the second stick.

That's a pretty cool idea as well, might just have to sit on the project while I decide. Awesome controller by the way, might see if I can find one for myself.
