Hello assemblers, I just bought a sega genesis model 1 (for the superior sound and that), I opened the console to see is a VA6, But what surprised me was that the console was modded! here are some pictures:

The thing is , I don't know what is the purpose of that mod (Only that the headphone port is screwed, it sounds very bad), can anyone give some advice?

    Thanks!

This is a stereo mod I suppose.
The Genesis V1 outputs mono only on the back with the DIN-8, but the front outputs stereo.

What I don't understand is what is the pin the modder used. There's no free pins on the back for the stereo.

Edit: seems to be the Composite? I don't understand...

Is there any trace cut or pin lifted on the videochip (CXA1145) ?

You could replace the composite video pin at the AV socket with stereo. It'd just limit the system to RF, or raw sync RGB.
