Ive just stared collecting again last year and i am already at 100 games i wanted to know when you started your collection how long did it take for you to reach 100?
How hard it is depends on what games you buy. 100 loose cartridges: One visit to the flea market and $300. 100, each of them rare collectibles: 10 years and $10,000.
Say I had 0 games right now, I could have 100 games including many very good games tomorrow for about 50 USD. It all depends upon what system you buy for and what games you are buying. It's not really a question anyone can answer because we all live in different parts of the world where games cost more or less, easier or harder to find.
Depends on what you are collecting. If you are the type to want volume and not too much quality (like I did years ago), it can be pretty fast.
well all my titles are for ps1 ps2 and ps3 and i live in the us i normally just buy games off ebay and i do have a few little pricy titles that im pretty proud of to have in my collection
I've been buying, playing, and collecting games seance I was four years old. I had about 100 games when I was six thanks to my grandfather.
My first console was a SNES, Christmas present. Unlike most of my mates, I never traded anything, and kept boxes, so still have all of those. Eventually the N64 was released and repeat what I just said Being at school, I had little money so didn't get all that many games, and owning Nintendo meant that I never had the options available to those with tape or floppy disc systems, so reaching 100 took me a long time. From then, I stopped playing for a bit, then got more heavily into games, and discovered car boot sales were a good place to pick up some nice things, and probably hit 100 pretty quickly, and many times over. After that I cleared out a lot of things that never really interested me (commodore, spectrum, mega drive, master system...) and more recently, I've been concentrating on narrowing my 360 collection from maybe 120 games to 60 or so, freeing up cash to allow me to buy new things. I prefer to buy new (obviously not much good for retro) and try to avoid eBay where absolutely possible, preferring shops, chance finds at boot sales and forums for trading, which (thankfully) restricts my purchasing, albeit probably leads to my collection having little to no focus as I essentially end up buying what I find!!
When I started thinking of myself as a "collector" and started "collecting" games I'm pretty sure I had over 100 games. The Dreamcast was in its twilight when that thought hit me, and up to then I just bought games that I thought looked good.
I'm a slow collector. I'm not trying to collect every damn game out there. So it's taken me about 4 years to get at about 200. I play more than I collect. I'm also obsessed with pinball so they eat a lot of my quarters
Not all games are created the same One thing is an AES collection and another a NES or PSX of which there are millions of consoles and games selling for next to nothing
