lol that's the post i was talking about at your house last night Jon. I think that post alone sums up why I stay away from GameFAQs
A bunch of Gamefaqs members came into a forum I usually post in yesterday. I could tell because posts suddenly started looking crappier, and everyone was saying "Sephiroth is so kewl he would totally kil Master Chief lol" The bad thing is, there were probably 300+ posts of this over a one hour period.
Gamefaqs has always been a rather backwards community when it comes to the forum (Granted, I am not too fond of the new admin SBAllen, he has a attitude I do not like when it comes to FAQ writers). Most of the mods are fairly prudish and have sort of a "holier then you" attitude, and sometimes even hold grudges (Especially against members of LUE, which is ironically one of the better forums on the site). But yeah, I avoid the game forums outside 1 I used to go to, and LUE on occasion.
Personally, I'd find it extremely difficult to type that badly. In fact, it'd probably take twice as long as it would to type it correctly/in a legible fashion.
This is why I was skeptic about getting a guides section on my site... Honestly the only reason why GF is still there is becos they got bought by Cnet (gamespot) back in 2003. The site is worthless, they can barely get ads for it. This goes to show how important is for a website to build a good community around it. Most webmasters think otherwise, but just look at Myspace: they're losing users every second since the place became an emo/camwhore place. Anyway, I agree that it looks a lot like idiocracy, specially since entertainment weekly called it one of the most useful gaming sites on the net. That makes you wonder what kind of asshats work at that magazine... And that means...........?
Shh! Don't tell anyone!:icon_bigg Someone actually made the account on here called 'g4m3rfr34k1727' on here, just to get back at me, I guess... I think it's funny though. They could have at least looked at how I post, and copy that, instead they used the same way of typing as they do on GameFaqs. Sorry, but I just can't stand people who type like that deliberately, it's my #1 pet peeve.
I used to post on the Gamefaqs boards a while back, but I don't remember what for now. I bet I didn't even have 50 posts between all of the boards. Same for IGN.
Not really. They push the GameSpot guides for just about everything now and it seems to take longer and longer for the "real" writers to get anything up.
The language is called "Fuckwit" created by stupid lazy kids who can't string a proper sentance together. Tsk kids today, god help us all.
