What I want to know is, how come the 'emo' subgenre HAS to be all, "Nobody understands me, my life sucks" whiny and depressed-like. If 'emo' is short for 'emotional', couldn't they be sickeningly happy or angry at The Man as well? Isn't all music 'emo'? :smt043 I love goofy-ass misnomers. :-D
Was this your gig, San Bernardino - if so take a look at this on the maiden site: http://www.ironmaiden.com/index.php?section=1&subsection=1
Ozzfest is coming to Charlotte, but the only reason I wanted to see them was for In Flames. I'm not really a metal person, other than In Flames and a few other bands (Opeth and Killswitch Engage come to mind). I don't like the general headbanging garbage that most people who attend these events take part in. I'd rather just sit there and listen. The "emo" phase has been an interesting one. I have a friend right now who has the black plastic framed sunglasses, the general "the world doesn't understand me" crap, tight clothing, and more Mars Volta than you can shake a stick at (I like Mars Volta, but you know ). He still swears up and down he's not trying to follow the emo trend.
